Take away "forced". What about being able to choose to display the Ten Commandments in a classroom?

commandments are a contravention of the u s constitution and the heavenly goal of self determination ...

they are phony, madeup by the liar moses who claimed they were heavenly and were destroyed by him without ever being witnessed by anyone than who destroyed them - and were repudiated in the 1st century events and jesus.

The atheist nations USSR Red China and Cambodia slaughtered over 100 million people

tangential religious motivation and for different reasons -

in russia it was payback for monarchical / religious oppression, nothing more - same equivalency for china and cambodia repressive regimes.

burning their feet and watching them die is so much better - the commies need to learn better their tactics for terrorism over the long haul of civil discourse.

So?

Hitler was a Christian

+1

Based on a wide consensus of historians, Adolf Hitler was not a Christian and was considered irreligious, anti-Christian, and anti-clerical
. Although baptized Catholic, he privately held contempt for Christianity, which he considered a "decadent" influence, and only feigned Christian belief publicly to secure power.

Would you expect him to unless he were Muslim or Indian? Because I wouldn't. Do you believe this is some important point? Because I don't. There's only one God - or Creator if you prefer - and I don't think he cares which religious banner anyone prays to him under. We are all his creatures. Seek him and you will find him.

But I do believe that Jesus is everyone's bridge. And according to Jesus no one will be condemned because they don't believe in him (John 5:24). The ones that do will not be judged. The ones that don't will be judged. But being judged does not necessarily mean being condemned. It is only the ones that actively oppose Jesus through deception that will be condemned according to Paul (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12).
I don't know, DennisPTate expects atheists to do something totally alien to them so he should be expected to do the same.

You are welcome to worship God as you see fit. But it should be up to your parents and your church to instill those values.

Rightfully, we have a separation of church and state. It is not the role of the state to mandate what religious values you should have.

Forcing young children to read that there is only one God and that worshiping another God or not worshiping at all is a sin is not a value the state should mandate
Do you believe parents should be supportive of their children with their homework and the learning they bring home from schools? I do. Likewise, I expect schools (where children spend a good part of their day) to be supportive of what parents are teaching at home.

No one is forcing children to believe there is only one God. I have no problem with Hindu Gods, or a Buddha image in the classroom, either, or explaining the difference between Hindu/Buddhism and the Abrahamic faiths. We should teach our children to be open and accepting of freedom of all faiths. As such, I had no problem with one of my children's high school English teacher began pushing her faith as a witch and witchcraft. My daughter and I had a great conversation--and learning about her teacher's beliefs did her no harm at all.

Nor is it the role of schools to ignore important parts of students' lives. Every summer I have to spend hours learning about what to do when a child's after school life seems problematic.

Further, it is not the role of schools to have policy's which block the learning and knowledge of any faith.

What actual harm do you imagine by religion/faith being acknowledged in schools?
