Most religions dont have a devil its a Christian belief that comes from dualism the war between light and darkness. There is no devil in the Old Testament
Read the book of Job. It speaks of Satan.

Agnostic (my version) is simply, "I'll believe it when I see it for myself."
To me it seems less plausible that there is no 'God'. Everywhere we look we see order, symmetry and balance. That contradicts the second law of thermodynamics which states that natural processes always move toward disorder.

I admit that I don't know the laws of thermodynamics or have any of them memorized. But, would I be wrong to question those "laws" when they are being used to convince me of a "god" that I can't otherwise verify for myself, any other way?

The law simply states that any natural process does not "order itself" unless there is someone or something creating order. If you came upon a cabin in the woods, you wouldn't say "My look how that wood and metal shaped itself into this nice cozy cabin". You might say "Thank you to whoever built this nice cabin!"

Atheism is a valid belief. I would ask why, what is the emotional truth of your Atheism? Its question we ask in psychology when we search for what is really motiving us. Ask yourself what would I be like if I did believe in god. What would that say about me? That will bring it out and ask the reverse what does it mean that I choose not to believe
I always wonder why people are so afraid that they need to believe in some spirit. What makes it so scary to face that things start when you are conceived and end when you die.
I suppose that it comforts some in some way.

I don't think it's always fear. If I may, I was way more apt to believe in "God" and cling to religion, in my younger years, because I really thought I might one day get to see and know my mother, who died when I was a baby (18 Months old.) That desire has changed drastically over time. So much so that I don't have that need to see her anymore.

I never knew a family. Never had that need or want to in some way to meet someone or other in some other “ realm”.
I have never felt any need to feel that there was some other life or whatever. I never felt a need to blame someone else for things that happened or did not happen in my life

Someone once ask me, what if God appeared before you, did impossible miracles and convinced you he was real. What would you do.

My response: I'd sucker punch the ************.

That kind of supports where I am at too. It's a thing that comes from within.

I dont believe fear is the reason for belief it isnt mine. I honestly say Im not certain but lean to some kind of intelligent design. For me the strongest argument is the inherent human need to create a life with me meaning. I have no doubt there is an after life I have experienced it.

Yet you not only feel a need to have an intelligent design to things but you claim to know there is an afterlife.
If there is some great spirit and some afterlife then why do we have people that so afraid to experience this great being this gorgeous afterlife? Religion paints a picture of perfect perfection. Given that we experience strife, medical problems, on and on with so many trials it would seem that common sense would dictate the termination of this life and moving on into the afterlife

I have experienced the afterlife its real. It has nothing to do with God or religion. Cant handle a little adversity can you. Youre ready to throw in the towel. Perhaps your life doesnt mean anything

lol. Funny that you somehow got that out of my post.
I will put it this way. You have seen an afterlife. I assume since you are talking about it on a post about religion that it must be better than the current reality. Why is it then that those that believe in the afterlife are not flocking to it?
Myself I do not believe in one so once I am done here that is the end. I have always told others they will have to nail my coffin shut in order to bury me.

My reality is important to me my life has meaning. When the afterlife reaches out to you it cant be denied. Many people have experiences not just one or two. There are serious studies collecting data. Your mind and personality is energy. We know energy cant be destroyed. When the body dies memory and emotion remains.

So you are saying the afterlife does not hold meaning, it is not important. I suppose if you go out and shut off the breaker to your house all your appliances will still run?
The energy is used to run that appliance. Same thing when I die my energy will have been used up. I will be producing no more.

No thats your position. Life has meaning all life. Interesting that you compare yourself to an appliance.
AI Overview

The principle that "energy can't be created or destroyed" is known as the Law of Conservation of Energy, a fundamental law in physics and the first law of thermodynamics. It states that energy can only be transformed from one form to another, but the total amount of energy in a closed system remains constant. Humans are not a closed system. Life is better when you open your mind. Theres more than observable objective reality

lol. Once again you fail to understand what is written. I was using the appliance as a way of explaining how things actually work.
And here you go with again not understanding what you read. If you apply a current to a loop of copper it will slowly degrade because the copper adds a small amount of resistance. You add in a drill and you loose that current almost immediately because it is turned into work.

Look you can believe In anything. You can believe that you will turn into an omnipotent tree that create universes or anything else. I really do not care. But I feel that I also have the same right.
