Okay, so, current polls show that about 60% of those polled say that the country is going in the wrong direction. Since those polls always seem to be consistent with each other, that figure must be pretty close to being accurate. But, both sides seem to argue that the country is going in the wrong direction due to the other side. "Direction of the country" seems to be very general, generic, and extremely undetailed terminology, defined differently by different sides.

So, why do you think that about 60% of the country believes we are going in the wrong direction? Break it down into the details. My belief is that it is the economy (inflation), stupid. When inflation was higher, about 70% of the country thought we were headed in the wrong direction and since now that inflation has eased slightly, now only about 60% of Americans think the country is going in the wrong direction.

I take that as proof that the "direction of the country" is actually defined mostly by inflation. Assuming I am right, is it Democrats fault? Republican's fault? Both of their faults? Neither of their faults, it is what it is due to unavoidable global events (such as collateral damage from the pandemic and the Ukraine war)? If the last is so is the country going in the wrong direction but it is really no one's fault?

I say that inflation was going to be higher anyway but Democratic policies have thrown gasoline on the inflation fire, making it worse than it would have been. It is also my opinion that about 25% of those polled on each side are just diehard partisans, blaming the direction of the country on the other side. In other words, if you eliminate the extreme partisans, only about 5% think the country is going in the right direction, about 35% think the country is going in the wrong direction, about 10% have no opinion, and those remaining 50% are diehard partisans who just want the blame the other side.

So, what is your opinion of the details of why people think the country is going in the wrong direction and who's fault is it? Can we fix this feeling of the country going in the wrong direction or are we at the mercy of things all working out on their own?

I think it's because (a) the two ends of the political spectrum refuse to work together like decent, intelligent adults, (b) whenever each end wins an election, they take it as a "mandate" to shove their entire agenda down our throats, and (c) all they do is refuse to look in the mirror and point the finger at the other.

To put it more bluntly, it's because the most influential people care far more about themselves than they care about the country, and it's only getting worse.

Our direction? Be patient, folks. Our beloved leadership has us almost there.

This country is not going in the wrong direction due to inflation which is just a minor and temporary inconvenience. This country is entering into the realm of "it sucks". The cause? Crime, The Border, Taxes, Wokeism and above all, TDS. I forgot to mention all the damn Liberal fools that ignore the obvious and continue to vote for the same swamp dwellers determined to promote a historically failed socialist based government. FJB

Taxes are historically low for most people. We are among the least taxed people in the developed world.

Crime is a big issue, due to leftist policies. A true 60% or more comprising of both sides feel crime is a big issue.

Many on the left don't give a crap about the border, accept that they think we need to provide more resources to help illegals so the 60% is kind of split with the right being against illegal immigration and the left only thinking we have border problems due to that lack of resources to help the illegals.

Just like the border issue, many of the 60% are split on both sides of the issue regarding taxes. One side feels taxes are a problem while the other side only thinks taxes are a problem because the rich are supposedly not paying their fair share.

Now, wokeism, like crime, is probably a true 60% without being split as both Republicans and Independents feel wokeism is out of control.

TDS is also probably a true 60% with most all democrats being afflicted by it as well as some independents.

Here we have a guy who only cares about taxes. The invasion at the border, political corruption, the woke agenda and indoctrination of our kids and our rush into socialism is to be ignored. Any wonder why we are in trouble?

Facts!

Guarantee that the instant the OP's guy is in Office, there'll be no more talk of "wrong direction" from him. No matter what the state of the country is in.

We are in trouble because of the ignorance and moral decline of the people.

Don't go there! I don't know about you but I am a true blue conservative who would never willingly let this country fall into the woke, liberal abyss. FJB
Ignorance and moral decline isn't limited to woke liberals.
