Don’t forget GLA (gross living area). That depends on several parameters, including the location of a house, the prices of recently sold comparable homes within a specific radius (comps), its proximity to schools, parks, and other conveniences, the overall safety of the neighborhood, and market trends (e.g., interest rates, and local economic conditions).
Illegals who steal jobs from Americans pay their taxes with ill gotten money. They shouldn’t be working here in the first place they shouldn’t even be here.Adding Up the Billions in Tax Dollars Paid by Undocumented Immigrants
Often lost in political and policy debates about undocumented immigration is a simple yet crucial fact: undocumented immigrants pay taxes. Like everyone else in the United States, they pay sales taxes. They also pay property taxes—even if they rent. As a report from the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy (ITEP) points out, “the best evidence suggests that at least 50 percent of undocumented immigrant households currently file income tax returns using Individual Tax Identification Numbers (ITINs), and many who do not file income tax returns still have taxes deducted from their paychecks.” The end result is that undocumented immigrants are paying billions of dollars each year in taxes. Moreover, as several studies have found, undocumented immigrants would earn much more, and therefore pay much more in taxes, if they had some sort of legal status, be it permanent or temporary. Not surprisingly, permanent status yields more tax revenue than temporary status.
Legalization vs. Executive Action
There are two scenarios that would markedly increase the tax contributions of undocumented immigrants:
- The granting of lawful permanent resident (LPR) status to all 11 million undocumented immigrants—in other words, legalization. This would generate the largest increase in tax revenue.

Undocumented immigrants are paying billions of dollars each year in taxes. In spite of their undocumented status, these immigrants—and their family members—are adding value to the U.S. economy, not only as taxpayers, but as workers, consumers, and entrepreneurs as well.www.americanimmigrationcouncil.org
The problem with a rigorous path to citizenship being.......it doesn't satisfy the need trumples have to expel the "vermin." You know, the rapists, the drug smugglers, the people who are poisoning the purity of American blood. Like the Jews did in Nazi Germany.
Why are you assuming that no one will be building homes if illegals are deported?Because new home building would slow rapidly. If there are fewer, they become more valuable.
A couple of questions, if illegals were not here taking jobs from Americans, would taxes not get paid? Beyond that, with the illegal taxation 'windfall' is our economy benefiting? How many tax dollars are going to support illegals? Illegals cannot 'contribute' any revenue other than American dollars, it's not as if they are actually bringing new wealth to our country. Your article is a sham.![]()
Study says undocumented immigrants paid almost $100 billion in taxes • Alabama Reflector
In 40 states, undocumented immigrants paid higher tax rates than the top 1% of the income scale in those states, according to the study.alabamareflector.com
A new study shows that undocumented immigrants paid nearly $100 billion in federal, state and local tax revenue in 2022 while many are shut out of the programs their taxes fund. The findings run counter to anti-immigrant rhetoric that undocumented immigrants are “destroying” social programs.
In 40 states, undocumented immigrants paid higher tax rates than the top 1% of the income scale in those states, according to a study released Tuesday from the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy, a left-leaning, nonprofit think tank.
In 40 states, undocumented immigrants paid higher tax rates than the top 1% of the income scale in those states, according to a study released Tuesday from the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy, a left-leaning, nonprofit think tank.
The study, which uses estimates of undocumented immigrants’ tax contributions as of 2022, shows those totaled $96.7 billion that year. Study authors also found that undocumented immigrants would contribute $40.2 billion more per year in federal, state and local taxes if all of the undocumented population had access to work authorization. The Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy reasoned that this boost would come from higher wages associated with employment authorization and easier compliance with income tax laws.
The report also shed further light on the tax revenue provided by undocumented immigrants on the state and local level. Undocumented immigrants are paying 46% of their state and local tax payments through sales and excise taxes. Six states — New Jersey, New York, California, Florida, Texas, and Illinois — were able to raise more than $1 billion each in tax revenue from undocumented immigrants, the nonprofit said.
New homes will be built regardless, for higher profit and prices if illegals are not hired. The wages might go up but the Market will adapt. Allowing illegals into this country with no wall, no security, no vetting, etc negatively impacts the stability of our markets. Marxists like this because it starts to tear down our Constitution. Why are you assuming that no one will be building homes if illegals are deported?
So a study of folks who snuck over the boarder, are actively hiding from government results in specifics ?![]()

Many of whom are paid in cash. If they receive a normal paycheck they must have a SS number. So a study of folks who snuck over the boarder, are actively hiding from government results in specifics ?

Some of them are pretty messy.Don’t forget GLA (gross living area).
True for existing homes. That depends on several parameters, including the location of a house, the prices of recently sold comparable homes within a specific radius (comps), its proximity to schools, parks, and other conveniences, the overall safety of the neighborhood, and market trends (e.g., interest rates, and local economic conditions).

There's Nothing "Free" About Unpaid TrainingYou know, you brought up an interesting point.
Since the regular school cirruculums are failing, I'm in favor of giving the students free training in the trades, instead of expensive and totally useless degrees.
My state actually pays for "worker training" as part of their unemployment package!!!
We can get someone qualified and working, and fill the labor shortage without having to rely on the illegals!!!
That is, if we're lucky enough to get the lazy people on welfare to get off their asses and GET A JOB!!!
Base the Choice on Natural Abilities Instead of Being GenericWe need to reintroduce men to the manly art and trade of building things and save them from the clutches of colleges
