If Every Illegal Alien is Given Legal Status and a Work Permit, who will Do the Jobs that Americans Won't Do?

Yes, I don't blame the workers for taking sub-living wages and also getting welfare from agencies that don't check immigration status. Again, take away the welfare subsidies and the workers will not work for less than they can live on.

The problem is with a president that has refused to secure the border, and a Director of Homeland Security who has found every reason he can dream up not to deport people once they cross over.
The problem is allowing employers to pay less than a living wage. You already said you can't blame a worker for taking the only job they can get even if it is for starvation wages.

Eliminating welfare will drive wages up.

Stop lying.

So you agree that the problem is with the employers being allowed to pay such low wages.

I agree that the problem is the government subsidizing their paying of such low wages.

If the subsidies stop, and my tax dollars are no longer part of the equation, the employers and the employees can work out what the wages will be without my input.

Seems your problem is more with the unethical employers that only pay starvation wages than it is with the poor workers who are just glad to have a job.

Your point is valid..... however it would mean the end of so many things we have grown accustomed to even addicted to. Maybe that's the way it should be.

Name a couple of these things that will "end" if we don't have illegal aliens working for sub-living wages.

Not talking about illegal aliens...talking about low wage Americans. Nobody's going to pay $20 for a Big Mac... Or ten bucks for a large fry. I Suspect that some entrepreneurial genius will find a way to restructure a business that allows affordable prices and good wages too. Remains to be seen I guess.

That stuff will just be automated, if the goverment forces wages up. Already happening in California.

Stores will be operated by technicians instead of managers.

Going in that direction anyway. Forcing the mininum wage up will just speed it up.

Probably real plates and silverware at a restaurant. Just styrofoam plates and sporks.

That will happen, how? Two dishwashers at a restaurant make ten bucks an hour instead of five, so the owner fires one and buys styrofoam plates and hopes customers keep coming?

Then I'll eat off my plates at home, while my illegal alien maid makes tamales and washes up afterward.

I prefer eating off a real plate.

Then you will pay for the privilege of having somone else wash the dishes for you.

Are your seriously advocating human trafficking so that you can eat from ceramic plates without having to clean them?

That's the idea behind going to a restaurant - not having to cook and to clean up.

New rules....cook your own burgers... clean your own dishes. The epitome of self-serve!

Thanks, Captian Obvious.

Point is do you support human trafficking so you can more easily afford to have a person making sub-living wage to cook and clean for you?

I guess to a Democrat that seems like a rhetorical question. Of course you do. You cheered a president that let millions of them be trafficked across the border.

Here's the thing: in a free market society, if you can't find workers to do a job for you then you have to increase the wages paid, right? And without gov't intervention I might add. BUT - what happens if you increase the number of illegals who will do the job for the lower wage? What we have here is basic supply and demand, when the labor supply goes up then there's no need to increase wages. So, if you want a higher minimum wage then stop allowing so many illegals to get in and stay here.

I don't know how it's all gonna play out but certain industries will be hit harder than others.

And the MAGA cult crowd opposed requiring employers to pay a living wage. Do you think those migrant workers like working for such a low wage? Do you think they would come here to work for such low wages if they had another option? Our problem is employers getting way with such low wages.
