Remember the Battle of Okinawa, April 1945 ? You wouldn't unless you're in your 80s, or older. But for those of us younger than that, we can know about it from history books. Among a chain of Japanese, Pacific islands, Okinawa was the last island that US troops fought in, before getting to the Japanese mainland.
Needless to say, the Japanese, desperate to preserve their nation, which they feared would disappear, fought maniacally, and the battle was the costliest (in lives) of the Pacific war. Over 14,000 US troops died, and over 100,000 Japs perished, many of them committing suicide.
Comparing that Japanese madness from desperation, with the crazy (suicidal) scam that Democrats launched against Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh, isn't hard to do. With a clear conservative majority on the US Supreme Court, Democrats are witnessing the disintegration of their party, their politics, and almost everything they have fought for over the past 50 years.
It may be a suicide of sorts that Democrats have just committed. While certainly some large segment of their base will remain loyal no matter what, it could be that with this crazy, disgusting scam Senate Democrats launched, with deceit overflowing (and obvious), they may have just lost enough voters to sink them in the upcoming elections, and thereafter.
Time will tell. One thing seems sure. That anyone with an ounce of decency and self-respect would have to have a hard time voting for these sleazy bums, after what they have tried to get away with, and insulting the intelligence of the American people.
No matter how desperate they may be, they should now have learned a lesson from the Kavanaugh battle. That Republicans and the US Senate will not be intimidated by shouting, by mobs, by brightly colored signs, or by phony accusers backed by sleazy lawyers, but with no evidence. They will not be coerced, and they will not be scammed.
