Defund the POlice.

If it's about race then the media should spotlight it. Do you not understand how people are mad because they get the cops called on them even for walking home from work?

"Look Marge, there is a black man in our neighborhood, call the cops".

And cops are going to have to learn that they need to leave people alone doing absolutely nothing worthy of getting arrested. Ask him to get out of the road, even though the road was likely the safest place to walk, and be on your way.

No a person does NOT have to explain themselves for simply walking home from work.

If the media evenhandedly "spotlighted" race issues, then I'd be ok with that. Instead, it only focuses on anything that involves white people abusing black people. The media doesn't care when it's the other direction. It also doesn't usually care when minorities abuse each other.

If the police murder someone it matters none as to other issues.

The Republicans can do nothing alone about the relief bill. If it's being held up, it's being held up on both sides.

Oh I agree, but you'll notice that's not how the media sees it.

And that's a business decision. If a black police officer killed an unarmed white suspect and it was reported by the media, we white people would shrug our shoulders and say "the asshole must have deserved it." When a white cop kills a black unarmed suspect, by reporting it, they can start protests, riots, get more viewers or readers which they use to increase the price of their advertising. If it's a riot that goes on for weeks and months like the Floyd riots, the media hit the jackpot.

it doesnt have to be a white cop, any cop will do.

How much of that money is actually taxes on gasoline going to the government ? Otherwise are taxes being raised in all sorts of nefarious ways instead of attacking the working class paycheck's immediately ???

The answer is zero. The taxes per gallon of gasoline never changed. What has changed is an anti-energy administration taking over the White House with an all anti-energy leadership in Congress. The huge increase was due to the Keystone pipleline stoppage along with drilling on public land.

There is no seeing nothing. One has nothing to do with the other.

True. At this point, people riot over suspects getting shot who chase cops with knives.

They absolutely do. The reason why BLM exists is because a lot of people falsely believe that police brutality is a race issue. That narrative has been pushed by the media for decades.

It is clearly a race issue. You aren't going to see it and that really doesn't matter.

Roland Fryer is a black professor at Harvard, and while he does still believe that race plays a part in police altercations, his study debunks the lethal force part of the argument. There is no evidence that police are more likely to use lethal force on black suspects than on other suspects, when adjusting for things like violent behavior by the suspect.

If you want to say that black people are targeted for harassment by cops more often because of their race, that's a less extreme argument than the one that BLM uses.

That's still not true either, however, when adjusting for the prevalence of crime among the black community. When one race commits a disproportionately high amount of crime, that race will have more police interaction than other races comparatively.

Discussion over.

"Yes the police interactions are racist but not as violently racist as it seems" is not a very good argument.

Weed the racism out. Period.

Or maybe the black community can deal with its crime issues and not have to deal with police as much. Racism isn't the bulk of the reason for this situation.

As long as progressives and the black community take that angle, the black community will never improve their plight.
