The right doesn't hate darwin. The religous fundamentalists hate darwin. Most self respecting intelligent right minded people won't lower themselves to myths and fairy tales over science. I would be willing to bet that over 50% of republicans are evolutionists.

Neither theory excludes the other from existing....only the truly obstinate do not see the grey in this

My point exactly. There is a lot of grey here. Not at all a black and white issue. Not every republican is a stupid bible thumping fundamentalist.
