Dan Crenshaw: MAGA Hardliners Aren’t Rational People

Being a #NeverTrumper, it’s hilarious to watch the GOP turn into the Leopards Eating Peoples’ Faces Off Party as the leopards eat peoples’ faces off. The dysfunction is highly predictable watching the so-called conservative party over the years devolve into a giant grifting cult of personality wallowing in grievance and bizarre conspiracy theories whose primary motivation is to pwn the libs.

Crenshaw suggested the Republican hardliners’ tactics are rooted in a fundamental misunderstanding of how to legislate.

“They always think they’re fighting for some principle. But what they always end up doing in practical terms is forcing more compromises with Democrats than we otherwise would have had to do,” he said. “They can’t explain—they cannot grasp this concept no matter how many times you show them. They cannot grasp this concept. So you’re not dealing with rational people sometimes.”

No kidding. All Rep. Crenshaw had to do was spend 15 minutes reading the twaf to figure this out.

Welcome to the fucking party, Crenshaw. You're only 6 years late.

Actually, what isn’t rational is insisting that we must proceed as we have been for so long while — at the same time — recognizing that (and carping about the fact that) our political system has broken down and is now dysfunctional at best.

I don’t want the Speaker (any Speaker) confirmed just so that we can get back to “business as usual.” That is totally irrational.

Nothing says 'rejecting disfunctionality' like being profoundly dysfunctional.

Nothing says “nothing” quite like your quoted post.

The GOP isn't 'rejecting disfunctionality and a broken system'. They're trying to blame their own incompetence, ineptitude and desire for chaos as 'dysfunction of the system'.

Like shooting your own tires, then complaining about poor gas mileage. Its a demonstration of both a profound lack of competence AND a profound failure of character.

Thats pretty weak. There are those elected who are tired of their junior party following the Progs totalitarian dictums. Progs have brought the seedy side of the Red-Light Districts into Public Schools while lowering educational standards! This could not have happened without a corrupted federal government okaying it.

There are no factions in totalitarianism, friend. There are no parties. You're using terms you don't understand as generic pejoratives to try and excuse wild incompetence among conservatives.

Their failures and ineptitude aren't a battle with 'totalitarainism'. Its a demonstration of what happens when you conservatives embrace conspiracy as policy, and commit to NOT governing. The changes that your ilk are demanding for Kevin's election to speaker would make the House ungovernable. It would be able to do nothing, and would almost certain default on our debts for the first time in our nation's history.

Which is the *actual* goal. This is why conservatives shouldn't be in leadership positions: they're committed to not leading and causing as much damage to governance as possible. At every level, from election up to legislation.

No. The more conservative members are trying to force the GOP into a more reasonable and effective lane.

There's nothing 'reasonable' about anyone being able to add amendments to any bill. Its a recipe for unlimited pork and the very dysfunction your ilk claim to be opposing.

Once again, what conservatives SAY they believe in, and what they ACTUALLY support have nothing to do with each other.

False. Amendments ought to of course be required to be germane. But other than that, adding a PROPOSED amendment is fine because the representatives get to vote on that, too.

Say that when government grinds to a halt and nothing and nobody gets funded. The Republicans tried that before.....how'd that work out?

No government fake shut down has ever affected me or most people for that matter.

You people need to see government for what it is and it' ain't anything good for you.
