Please please please don't tell me you buy that canned crap.
I have been making this recipe for about 5 years now.
20 oz cranberries
12 oz frozen dark cherries
1.25 packed cups brown sugar
a hefty pinch of fresh cracked black pepper
.5 cup apple cider
.5 cup bourbon
Bring the apple cider, cranberries, cherries, brown sugar and pepper to boil. Let boil for a couple minutes. Add the bourbon bring back to boil and reduce to a low simmer. let simmer for about 20 minutes stirring occasionally until thick. Let it cool and enjoy.
You can top with a little fresh orange zest too.
If bourbon isn't your thing
24 oz cranberries
1 cup white sugar or more to taste
1 cup dry champagne
bring to boil and then simmer until thick
