"A former sheriff’s deputy in Tennessee accused of raping a 14-year-old girl struck a plea deal with prosecutors last week that keeps him out of prison and from having to register as a sex offender. Brian O. Beck, 47, was indicted by a grand jury in June 2018 on charges of aggravated assault, rape and sexual battery by an authority figure, he reached a deal with prosecutors on Feb. 28 in which he pleaded guilty to felony aggravated assault.

Shelby County District Attorney General Amy Weirich said Monday in a statement: “Given the totality of evidence, we ethically could not proceed to trial on the indicted offenses. The decision was made in consultation with the victim.”

So is this justice or no?? Was the a situation were an activist judge sided with a cop over the victim of pedophilia and aggravated assault? Were Deep State Dem prosecutors trying to railroad this guy and didn't have a strong enough case to go to trial with?? and if the victim's family was ok with it; that could mean the cop was innocent or that the little girl was no angel....Maybe she seduced him....According to the case, the sexual assaults had been ongoing for 20 months; which means at least starting when she was 13 yrs old. He did plead guitly to felony aggravated assault however -- is it common for a grown ass man to commit FELONY aggravated assault on a child and not face any jail time??

How do we know he raped her? It seems like the evidence against him isnt so great (why else would prosecutors accept the plea?), but the guy didnt trust a jury. Im not saying he didnt rape her, but we know far too little about this case to be making judgements.

The incestuous relationship between the police, prosecutors and the courts must be addressed and changed.

What we do is little different than picking the jury from a pool of prisoners.

The decision was made in consultation with the victim.

The decision was made in consultation with the victim.

The decision was made in consultation with the victim.

So says the system.

The courts in New Jersey made a ruling for transparency which is very related to this. In it the "system" stated that a correctional officer had been "terminated". He hadn't been "terminated" he was allowed to retire with benefits for what was rape.

Not much as to details of what he is being accused in the OP's linked article. If he really did rape the girl, then he is getting off too easy and that is an injustice. If he didn't rape her, then what did he do? IDK. If he is innocent as he proclaims, then it's an injustice that he is punished at all.

I can't help but notice how long it has been since the indictment first took place. If something really did happen before, I can't see the feelings of the victim being any different now compared to how they were then. If anything, they should be even more burned up, especially if the person has not been in jail all this time. Letting such a rodent roam free only gives them the ability to add more names to their list of victims.

God bless you and the victim(s) always!!!

I believe in karma

Let me guess. The person accused of the crime was able to help where another important enough matter was concerned. I get why good things are given to those who are helpful enough, but the right that they do later on does not erase the wrong that they are already guilty of especially if what they are guilty of is severe enough. To me, at the end of the day, even though there are people out there who do change for the better, a rapist is still a rapist, and a murderer is still a murderer.

God bless you and every surviving impacted person always!!!

I know a guy here in Texas that got ten years probation for raping his stepdaughter, so let be clear this stuff happens and it is wrong!

If proven they truly raped the child then they should be hung upside down and let the victim beat them to death with a baseball bat…

No, it isn't. The fucker should be hung.

they aren’t. Special prosecutors are brought in

We have started to do more of that but it's hardly always done. We only expanded that because people didn't want their stuff burned down. It shouldn't have taken that for that to happen.
