Cop Avoids Jail Time For Raping A Child - Justice?

"A former sheriff’s deputy in Tennessee accused of raping a 14-year-old girl struck a plea deal with prosecutors last week that keeps him out of prison and from having to register as a sex offender. Brian O. Beck, 47, was indicted by a grand jury in June 2018 on charges of aggravated assault, rape and sexual battery by an authority figure, he reached a deal with prosecutors on Feb. 28 in which he pleaded guilty to felony aggravated assault.

Shelby County District Attorney General Amy Weirich said Monday in a statement: “Given the totality of evidence, we ethically could not proceed to trial on the indicted offenses. The decision was made in consultation with the victim.”

So is this justice or no?? Was the a situation were an activist judge sided with a cop over the victim of pedophilia and aggravated assault? Were Deep State Dem prosecutors trying to railroad this guy and didn't have a strong enough case to go to trial with?? and if the victim's family was ok with it; that could mean the cop was innocent or that the little girl was no angel....Maybe she seduced him....According to the case, the sexual assaults had been ongoing for 20 months; which means at least starting when she was 13 yrs old. He did plead guitly to felony aggravated assault however -- is it common for a grown ass man to commit FELONY aggravated assault on a child and not face any jail time??
Well, if she became pregnant....force her to carry the child, right?

hampton sc and the murdock murders will certain show the bitter and unshamed relationships between police and prosecutors

just google murdock murders and see the rabbit hole

um not sure how a link to a story about a ex-prosecutor being charged for trying to influence a case helps your case…yes a special prosecutor came in and ended up prosecuting the prosecutor! see

Just my guess: There was clear DNA evidence of intercourse, which would be a crime with a fourteen year old, but only she said/he said that it was forcible rape. Perhaps the girl felt pressured by the police officer, but the officer just thought he was living a Penthouse letters fantasy.

The cop, knowing he would be convicted of at least statutory rape, was desperate to stay out of prison and so agreed to plead to a felony in exchange for everything but prison.

"In consultation with the victim," does not mean that the victim agreed. If prosecutors talked to the victim and she said, "are you crazy? He belongs in prison for life!" that is "consultation with the victim."

Only after the fact the prosecutor failed and was exposed. You said a special prosecutor is always brought in. One would not have been if the video didn't get released exposing the whole mess.

Besides, you know you are wrong but I only had to provide one case to prove your statement wrong.

and you cited an example of a case where a special prosecutor was brought in to prove i was wrong?

and now you are linking to a story about how the Gov of NC is suggesting a special prosecutor be brought in on all cases involving law enforcemen?

You said it is already always done. We are making progress.

Not much as to details of what he is being accused in the OP's linked article. If he really did rape the girl, then he is getting off too easy and that is an injustice. If he didn't rape her, then what did he do? IDK. If he is innocent as he proclaims, then it's an injustice that he is punished at all.
Funny how when it comes to white folks committing crimes all we hear from those who want to make excuses for it is if, if, if, if, if, if, if.

that case didn’t involve law enforcement being charged

He was an ex police officer. All the same, a huge conflict of interest. If you are called for jury duty one of the first questions you are asked is if you know anyone involved in the case. If you do you are removed from the case.

In the case of a local prosecutor, they always know someone from one side.
