during national disasters ...but then they turn around and criticize big government.
It's worse down south where we have so many hurricanes and so many conservative governors who rail against Washington. But those governors - like Bobby Jindal - are always first in line to beg for aid from big government. I'm begging you to do some research. Look at how money Republican governors suck from Big Government and future generations because of national disasters. Mitt Romny famously took huge sums from FEMA . . . and then he went on to say he was going to gut these programs. Typical Republican.
It's just like the private business sector. They rail against government, but they crave the subsidies and bailouts from the nanny state. Indeed, they lobby like crazy to get favors from big brother. John Galt has always sucked at the teat of big government. He has no problem taking FDIC insurance, or getting patent protection from big government. He loves big government's help.
But that isn't the saddest part. Everybody knows that senators like Paul Ryan begged for stimulus money. Everyone knows that the Rightwing loves big government. For god's sake, Ronald Reagan was an FBI informant when he was in Hollywood. Then, as governor, he used the FBI to bury information about his adopted son Michael's relationship to the son of a mafia boss. That is, Reagan LOVED using the centralized power of Washington. He was not an outsider or a reformer; rather, he was deeply tied to big government's central power structures. Everyone knows this. Everyone but ... the morons who listen to talk radio.
I remember when power went out when I was living in North Carolina. All these angry conservatives cried for big government to intervene and fix everything. They bitched and moaned as they cashed their Social Security checks and used their medicare benefits . . . and enjoyed living in a country where government always comes to the rescue during a national disaster.
Fucking hypocrites.
(This hurricane will add billions to Obama's debt, just like the Bush wars. Conservative governors and senators love getting aid from big government - they love spending, but they always try to blame someone else.)
