I do not understand right-wing Christianity
Are you expecting all Christians to vote in a certain way? Can you give a for instance?
The politics of RW Christianity is but a reflection of the highly flexible value system of those self-identifying as such. Pick any moral question such as the death penalty. I am certain Jesus was against it especially there at the end. Most Christians support it and find it moral even though it reeks of vengeance and the deliberate taking of a life. Don't want to have a discussion on the death penalty, it was an example of how RW Christians come down on any moral question of secular life and governance.

So Jesus gave Moses a law that had the death penalty throughout and gave Adam the death penalty for eating fruit he shouldn't have eaten, but you're certain Jesus was against it. why?
I do not believe in the divinity of Jesus. The new testament recounts at least one incident where Jesus saved an adultress (?) from a stoning mob saying: "let you who are without sin cast the first stone". He also died by one of the cruelest capital punishments ever devised. It's state sanctioned vengeance, the scriptures say that belongs to God alone.

What about when he healed people? Or stopped a storm on the ocean? Or walked on water? Or fed thousands with 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread?

Healing people had nothing to do with a miracle. It was a sign. Calming the storm had nothing to do with the weather. Walking on water had nothing to do with the sea. Feeding thousands with 2 fish and 5 loaves had nothing to do with poofing fish sandwiches out of thin air.

And in case you were wondering. Raising the dead had nothing whatever to do with decomposing bodies crawling out of their graves and walking around.

Every single 'miracle' or sign that Jesus was the messiah can be interpreted in a way that conforms to reality.

Fascinating stuff.

Well? Have you ever come across a Bible in a hotel or something?

Ever read it? It would probably change your life for the worst.
Yes, I can see how that would terrible.

Just don't ever do it. Trust me. You will regret it.
So that’s where I went wrong. Damn.

You read it? The whole thing?
You sound surprised. Why wouldn’t I?

It was both and more. Miracles, signs and lessons in a living parable.

Yeah sure, It was as miraculous as if you ever admitted that teaching people to set aside the law of God and worship an edible human being that never existed amounts to murder.

I’m not sure what that has to do with what we are discussing other than it somehow makes you feel better to attack the beliefs of others. But from my perspective it’s weak bait.

At the heart of this debate is whether or not spirit created the material world.

Exactly. I don’t see how this has anything to do with that. I thought I already made that clear.

If spirit created the material world then reality exists at the pleasure of spirit.

Of course Jesus existed. He was just not an edible god made man made matzo who performed magic tricks.

Let me make it simple.

If the law of God is the way to eternal life and failing to heed the instruction of the law leads to death then teaching others to set aside the law of God to worship a three in one edible mangod amounts to murder.

This is the irrefutable truth whether God exists or not.

If you don't understand its because you died a very long time ago.

I believe that rather than mind evolving as a late outgrowth of the evolution of space and time that mind has always existed as the source or matrix of physical stuff. Such that mind created the physical world so that beings that know and create would eventually arise.

My liberal values were absolutely informed by my early religious indoctrination. How conservatives have turned the seven deadly sins into virtues is beyond me. I no longer call myself a christian but the fearlessly gentle example of Jesus still resonates strongly with me.
Then you are a Christian.

What laws of God are you following exactly. Did God send you an email?

You should let God worry about me. He doesn’t need your help. God has everything under control.

It seems to me you believe in the G-d of Abraham. I would think that you would be more concerned with the souls of the non-Abrahamic religions.
