We are supposed to use our talents, we are supposed to work hard and enjoy creating, we are not supposed to love money to the point that we ignore our fellow man and we are supposed to be stewards. And when we help people it should be a personal experience that addresses social and economic problems at the closest community or authority level that can handle those problems. It starts with family, friends, churches, community and then local government at the county level. That way we ennoble them rather than destroy their spirit.
Destroy their spirit? What spirit? A spirit of deception? Lying in the name of the Lord ?

You know, I once heard that admitting that you have a problem is the first step to recovery.
Even FDR recognized that continued dependence destroyed the moral fiber of men and the nation.

Yeah, I discovered that there was no santa when I was 5 years old and I knew that God wasn't edible or a human being in the second grade in spite of legions of dedicated dingbats like you saying otherwise with their loving threats of real and imaginary violence.. No one even had to tell me. I learned how to read in the first grade.

Why do I have to tell you?

At some point in your life you must have come across a Bible. Haven't you ever stayed in a hotel? Can't you read?

You smell something bad everywhere you go so you think that it just stinks like shit everywhere, day and night, year after year, and so you got used to it. You should have just checked the bottom of your own shoes

Fascinating stuff.

Well? Have you ever come across a Bible in a hotel or something?

Ever read it? It would probably change your life for the worst.

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. 2 Thessalonians 3:10

To my knowledge this is the only verse of the Bible ever quoted by conservatives.

There are 17 other verses in Chapter 3 of Thessalonians. Are they relevant?

There are 23,144 other verses in the Bible. Are they relevant?

How can people continue to pretend that the Bible doesn't promote left wing principles? The Bible is way more consistent with liberal political thought than with conservative politic thought. Does anybody get it?
I love the part of the bible where it says "God helps those that help themselves". With liberals they want Government to help them because they are too stupid to use God's given gifts..
The bible also commands you to help those who are poor or sick and be welcoming of strangers.
I do help those, but I sure dont want some fucked up government taking from me and giving it to people who dont belong here, or sit on their ass all day acting like petulant spoiled little girls.
Wow, what a perfect description of the right wing.

Under the New Covenant, the chosen of God are no longer bound to their futile ways. The Helper, the Holy Spirit, the Intercessor, imparts to them a new way of being human, a way that changes lives and subsequently the world. Christians do not face any particular city five times a day when they pray. They do not make pilgrimages to any temple or tabernacle. They keep no law books or record of wrongs. They worship the Lord when they please, day and night (Rv 7:15).

Individual congregations are self-governing; Paul in fact encourages spirit-led organization within local assemblies. But within the Christians’ kingdom at large, no hierarchy subjugates them, no taxing authority oppresses them, no regulatory body directs them, no central authority oversees them. They seek no single unifying leader to call teacher or father (Mt 23:8-9). Their church’s decentralized leadership means that theirs is a living temple of which they are all the stones. They are all counted as priests, inspired by the Holy Spirit to a higher ethical standard, to live by the power of forgiveness and the spirit of truth. It is a temple without altar, ritual, or mandate. By design, the church is a temple of equals (Mt 20:25-28).

The Christians’ kingdom is one in which they do not answer to any prince or emperor or anyone else wearing robes and passing decrees; only to their one king, the Lord Jesus Christ who reigns from heaven. Only to their one high priest, the veil that was torn asunder to open the way once and for all to paradise (Heb 10:20), where God dwells with man on the earth, and then the second veil that ascends to heaven, that opens the Most Holy Place where man dwells with God forever. Their kingdom is a living temple made of living stones, of born-again believers who are the new Priesthood (1 Pt 2:5). This is the real thing, not the copy that the brick-and-mortar temples of Solomon and Herod were (Heb 9:23-24).

This is an individualistic, moral, and virtuous community. It is not left-wing in any way.

If that's the only verse you've ever heard conservatives quote, then you are a dishonest, lazy, took who has never actually had any real conversations with a conservative.

please come back and try again when you decide to be honest and have some experience actually talking to people outside your bubble

I do not understand right-wing Christianity
Are you expecting all Christians to vote in a certain way? Can you give a for instance?
The politics of RW Christianity is but a reflection of the highly flexible value system of those self-identifying as such. Pick any moral question such as the death penalty. I am certain Jesus was against it especially there at the end. Most Christians support it and find it moral even though it reeks of vengeance and the deliberate taking of a life. Don't want to have a discussion on the death penalty, it was an example of how RW Christians come down on any moral question of secular life and governance.

So Jesus gave Moses a law that had the death penalty throughout and gave Adam the death penalty for eating fruit he shouldn't have eaten, but you're certain Jesus was against it. why?

Don’t you think Jesus would be proud that we as a society provide foodstamps to people who don’t have money?

But to you giving any poor person tax money is stealing from you?

I don’t think a real Christian would feel that way.

Why would he be proud that you took money from people you don't like to give to others? He asked you to give. Not to steal

Who said anything about taking money from people I don’t like? I’m talking about everyone who makes over a certain amount paying taxes to help feed the poor.

The fact is it’s the poor people you don’t like.

So you should have said why take money from you to give it to people you don’t like

I do not believe in the divinity of Jesus. The new testament recounts at least one incident where Jesus saved an adultress (?) from a stoning mob saying: "let you who are without sin cast the first stone". He also died by one of the cruelest capital punishments ever devised. It's state sanctioned vengeance, the scriptures say that belongs to God alone.

The people of Anglo Saxon heritage have always won in all aspects of society. I think the principles that brought greatness should be continued. I'm proud of my heritage and think it should be perpetuated.

Those African/Middle Eastern belief systems seems to create an obsession over killing each other over some barren desert land. Once they get that squabble figured out in the next three or four thousand years they might join the conservative school of thought and actualy improve the world.

Don't be ashamed of taking the good things from the Bible and discarding the rest. That's what Anglo Saxons do. We win. We take things.

Be proud of your heritage.

Most Africans are Christians and always have been. Secondly Islam is based on Judaism. So is Christianity.

What about when he healed people? Or stopped a storm on the ocean? Or walked on water? Or fed thousands with 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread?

Jesus should have instead taught those 5000 takers to fish.
