The House on Wednesday is set to approve legislation to create a bipartisan investigation of the Jan. 6 Capitol attack...
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) announced his opposition to the legislation, which he says puts too much focus on the Jan. 6 attack.
If McCarthy had been around for the 9/11 Commission, bin Laden and al Qaeda might have shared center stage with newlyweds William and Catherine..

Perchance, McCarthy just wants to avoid an unpleasant topic, figuring that he has already written the Commission's conclusion:

“The president bears responsibility for Wednesday’s attack on Congress by mob rioters.
He should have immediately denounced the mob when he saw what was unfolding.”
[House Minority Leader McCarthy blames Trump for riot but opposes impeachment]

Why would anyone waste their time investigating a field trip to the capital when they cheated the election? Geeze talk about small potatoes.

Its already been investigated to death. Our useless Govt. doesn't need to repeat itself.

You saw there was already at least one thread on this EXACT topic right?

No. We need at least 7-8 congressional investigations. Especially if Trump is planning on running again. The last one should be timed specifically for the election.

It’s the Benghazi plan.

Whodatsaywhodat.] Why would anyone waste their time investigating a field trip to the capital when they cheated the election?
The Congressional inquiry into Trump's goon attack on Congress is unrelated to crackpots' paranoid delusion of a stolen "Landslide!"

Democrats just want the opportunity to claim the protest was an insurrection for political gain.

No doubt there is a partisan aspect, Democrats seeking to explore the nature of the unprecedented assault upon the nation's democratic process, and a faction of the Republican Party hellbent upon suppressing it, but it is essential that it be honestly confronted.

Hundreds of Trump goons being prosecuted may afford insights into the treachery, but it merits an independent, in depth, exposé.

Investigate what it was a couple of thousand idiots that rioted and stormed the Capitol. This would not even be an investigation it would be both sides giving us there standard talking points then coming to the conculsion they already had it would just be another televised partisan shit show.

Let's first investigate the insurrectionists, looters, rioters and murderers who attacked and held captive cities like Portland and Seattle and all across the country.

January 6 was child's play compared to the savagery and terrorism that occured over the Summer of 2020 and in some places still continues.

Of course Democrats won't even get close to arresting and going after thousands upon thousands of criminals who not only committed arson and theft and destroyed people's livelyhoods and govt. buildings, but also committed hate crimes in many instances, because it doesn't fit their narrarative.

What do you think these Republicans are afraid of?

Exposure of complicity?

Not afraid of anything. They know Dems will construct the rules of the "investigation" to basically prevent any real questions from being asked.

The GOP tends to support congressional hearings.

Wonder what makes this different...

.

There is no difference in one person denying an investigation, and another person denying an investigation.
If the Democrats don't want to investigate Election Fraud, then the Republicans aren't obligated to entertain Democrat insecurities.

If the Democrats don't have faith in the investigation the FBI is conducting, the Republicans aren't obligated to hold their precious little hands.
