It is true that fascism generally has a nationalistic component, but much of the world in general really does fit the economic side of fascism. Maybe you could say we aren't socially fascist, however.

This isn't conspiracy. This is ideology. If your government colludes with industry, which is pretty obvious with how our lobbying system works, that is fascism in the economic sense.

You may not like that label, but it fits. If you want more examples, look at the revolving door between our regulatory agencies and the industries they supposedly regulate. The FDA is one of the worst about this.

We're accustomed to thinking of fascism as the Nazis, but ironically, they weren't even fascists. They were national socialists, which are similar but have fundamental differences to them. Mussolini's fascism was much more overt, but what we have is an economic arrangement not that far from his, particularly when you take into account bank bailouts and other forms of bailout.

You can also use quantitative easing as another collusion example, or the insider trading that goes on between Congress and industry.

I think the right approach is to pass an Amendment. The only other way is to overturn Citizens United, but I don't think that will happen, even if the Court becomes left leaning.
