I’d say it’s indefensible if it’s any president telling the DoJ to prosecute someone, especially when they already decided that the evidence is not likely to result in a conviction.

Are we to believe Trump is a natural arbiter in this instance? Someone who just looked at all the facts and decided objectively that this case should go forward?

The standards for prosecuting something isn’t “can you get it past a grand jury”. The standard is whether it’s likely to succeed in court. You can get a lot of things past a grand jury that don’t stand a chance in court.

And you accuse ME of not caring? I suppose you think criminals should just walk free if they are Democrat darlings? That the President should not urge his DOJ/FBI to go after actual criminals? That someone with the power of a FBI Director should have immunity from prosecution unless charged by a Democrat?

Well when more than half of the jurors agreed on the evidence against Comey, if that in fact is the case, that would be a really good thing especially in one of the bluest areas of the country.

Not really. In this case, the lack of exculpatory evidence presented is a big factor.

In this case, the main witness completely undermines the prosecution. The guy they say Comey authorized to speak to the press has said that Comey did not do that. And the only evidence they have to the contrary is completely circumstantial.

Compare that to the Trump indictments, wherein neither the prosecution nor the defense possessed any exculpatory evidence for Trump.

Peter Navarro was indicted relatively quickly by a qualified prosecutor. This was for contempt of congress, which is defying a congressional subpoena.

by contrast, this Comey thing is prosecuted by a lawyer improperly appointed and with no experience as a prosecutor. She is at risk of losing her law license.

A federal grand jury indicted Comey.

I wonder what rationale they put forth for refusing to go ahead with the releasing of the flight log. It made them look really bad, really suspicious, like they had something to hide (which they did).
