No surprise about Schumer. Democrats made it perfectly clear that they will be the obstructionist party for at least four years. The problem for democrats is that Harry Reid pushed through a resolution that changed the rules when democrats were riding high. Thanks to Reid the senate only needs 51 votes to confirm a nominee instead of 60.
Just for clarification. The change in 2013 did not include SCOTUS nominations.
They can still be filibustered, meaning 60 votes for a cloture vote.
