Chip Roy is a lying weasel. The Republicans do protect the rich by allowing them to cheat on their taxes. The misnamed fair tax would be a massive tax increase on the middle class and a big tax cut for the rich. Republicans only care about spending when Democrats are in charge.

WRONG. "The effective tax rate increases as spending increases, but never exceeds 23 percent!". What you don't like is that the "rich" guy doesn't pay a higher percentage than the middle class guy. In the average liberal mind, it actually isn't fair that we all pay the same percentage based on consumption, yet we do it all the time at the state and local level with sales tax.
