I suspect that in 1990, if illegals or immigrants were out throwing rocks (attempted murder) at law enforcement citizens might have gotten more involved. In todays world of the internet, that is more dicey. Still, I have to wonder just how you feel about the concept of a sanctuary city (something that is completely unconstitutional). Or about actual assaults on ICE agents.



If some citizen sniper dropped one of two of those people with a bullet to the head, I'd be sad for the fact that it got there. I would not be sad for the people lying on the ground.

The Posse Comitatus Act is a United States federal law (18 U.S.C. § 1385, original at 20 Stat. 152) signed on June 18, 1878, prevents using Federal Troops in civilian cities. It keeps the US from become a police state under US Troop control.

In 1990, there is no record of Federal Troops called out and deployed, due to a rock throwing incident against law enforcement officers in some US city or anybody else, for that matter. While it is true, there have been 3 offices killed by rocks thrown in the history of the United States, there have been none in the last 70 years.

Since you are wondering, due to memory or being new to the board, I have spoken many times on here against "Sanctuary Cities". We don't believe in them, and it is against the law in my state.

My prediction.

The insertion of federal troops into Washington D.C. is a precursor to troops being deployed to democrat cities. In the months preceding the mid-term elections, ICE and federal troop crackdowns will increase to the extent that many voters will be intimated from voting. Or he may employ other tactics to sway the vote.


Trump is also trying to do away with mail-in voting. If republicans do poorly in the elections, he may try to invalidate legally cast mail-in votes in order to ensure continued Republican control of Congress.

Make sure you get everyone you know to vote.

I told everyone to vote for MAGA candidates.

And I go back that far (maybe not far enough though) for the point of the left have perpetuated 'political' violence for alot longer than Republicans have. There may have been a few instances, but most of any violence on the Right has been just since Trump, whereas the left have a long history of it

This is a challenge to all Americans.

It might be that the most spiritual thing I do this one of American holy days is to commit myself to stand up in my little space and raise my squeaky voice against the creeping authoritarianism occurring in my country presently. Resistance comes in all forms--writing letters, publicly speaking against it, working for voting rights, helping immigrants, talking to your MAGA-influenced neighbor, etc--but together it can be a powerful force against what is happening today. And let me tell those who have drifted to this immoral man's side because of wokeness, distaste for LGBTQ rights, high taxes, lack of patriotism by some, or other reasons, losing our rights and living in a country where incompetent, immoral people head our agencies, abuse our rights, and show disdain for God's children is not what benefit you. We can debate our differences, we can seek different paths, but it is not worth losing our country for those differences. The thing that is supposed to make this country better is that we can live with our differences. That we respect them and give every man and woman the right to make their choices. We can be so much better than this. Let us not be cafeteria citizens, choosing only what benefits us and letting others suffer. We can be conservative, liberal, socialist, even right-wing but we can still believe in democracy for the people, by the people, and only through the people. Government is to serve all, not just those who are currently in power. It is something that those who come to power often forget. But the citizens must never.
