CBS still hasn't officially retracted the story and Rather has yet to apologice to Bush, the perons he directly slandered. Interesting that the report suggested niether, both of which seem appropriate.

actually Rather says he still thinks it's true! "No one has proved it is false" is his take.

I think that maybe he looks at it like this.....

He really has no choice but to stick with "That's my story and I'm sticking to it".

I mean really, if he admits it's false he's also admitting he's a slim ball and/or was just too
stupid to be in the position he was in. Either way he loses. But to keep his mouth shut
allows for the public to maybe just forget about it. I'm sure that's what he hopes for anyway.
