The Catholic Church needs fannies in the seats. Many U.S. Catholics quit the church as a result of the predatory priest scandal and many churches were closed. The Catholic church is strong in Latin America where migrants are coming from. The pope is from there even.

No, he wasn't. For one thing, he was not a politician. He was not a secular leader who espoused ANY particular governing system.

However, HIS CHURCH, the one He founded, the Catholic Church, has always preached against Communism AND Socialism, which many seem to think are 2 entirely different things but they are essentially the same. Socialism leads to communism in any case.
