Europe seeks to increase deportations as some warn of Trump-like tactics

29 Mar 2026 ~~ By Sam McNeil and Giada Zampano

BRUSSELS (AP) — The European Union is expanding its powers to track, raid and deport migrants to " return hubs ″ in third countries in Africa and elsewhere, quietly adopting tactics of the Trump administration that have drawn public criticism across the 27-nation bloc.
The EU continues to tighten migration policies after right-wing parties took power in some countries in 2024. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, from the center-right European People’s Party coalition, has said that the new measures will prevent a repeat of the 2015 crisis caused by Syria’s civil war, when about 1 million people arrived to seek asylum.
“We have learnt the lessons of the past. And today, we are better equipped,” von der Leyen has said. The new policies, known as the Pact on Migration and Asylum, go into effect on June 12.
Far-right parties in Europe have praised the deportation policies of U.S. President Donald Trump and called for the EU to adopt a similar approach. Human rights groups warn that authorities are already illegally pushing back migrants at EU borders and hollowing out their legal protections.

Commentary:
This is preemptive. Europe’s elites know the masses want deportations and they will support populists promising action politically, So, they are trying to lead the parade.
Europe elites can either lead the parade, and deport only the worst of the worst, or lose power and more get deported. Remember, there are no voting machines in Europe, and very limited absentee voting rights. Citizens abroad need to go to a consulate to cast a ballot. They aren't sent by mail normally.
What a concept, deporting people who have NO right to be there in the first place
Abiding by the law, protecting American lives and property.
At least Europe doesn't have birth right laws like we presently have. That may be resolved by SCOTUS in a short time.
Really? Trump-like tactics? Europe is facing the same immigration problems as we are facing...
Italy's PM Meloni has taken a tough stance, she's approved an anti-immigration package that would allow the navy to halt vessels in international waters for up to six months if they are deemed a threat to public order; return intercepted migrants to countries of origin or third countries; and speed up the deportation of foreign nationals convicted of crimes.
"An “informal group” of EU nations including Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Denmark and Greece are pursuing deportation center agreements, said Bernd Parusel, a researcher at the Swedish Institute for European Policy Studies."
"In Britain, which left the EU several years ago, the center-left Labour Party government has made curbing unauthorized immigration a key focus.
Despite the push for Globalist 'Universal immigration' European country leaders like Trump are fighting back.

Trump corrupted them. :laughing0301:

I hope they carry through with it. Westerners have got to dump these people, and start having more kids of our own. Really sick of seeing large Islamic families coming into our countries and taking areas over. We have to act!!!!!!!!!!

I sit in the pew every Sabbath, smiling and enjoying myself, as my small town keeps making more and more baby Catholics! Catholic moms are my heroes!

Update:

'The era of deportations has begun,' right-wing MEP tells Euronews

2 Jun 2026 ~~ By Vincenzo Genovese

MEP Charlie Weimers told Euronews’ flagship morning show Europe Today that an “era of deportations” has begun in the EU, following a deal on what is described as the strictest-ever migration law, which includes return hubs outside the bloc.

The “era of deportations” has begun in the European Union, according to Charlie Weimers, a Swedish conservative MEP and one of the negotiators of the bloc’s strictest-ever migration law, which was agreed on Monday and marked the most significant shift in the EU’s migration policy in decades.
Speaking to Euronews's Europe Today show, Weimers — who is a member of the European Conservatives and Reformists group — said the new rules will lead to a significant change in migration management.
"We're moving from words to actual enforcement of our laws and our borders," he said.
The new law includes home searches to find irregular migrants, longer detention periods and entry bans to prevent them from absconding, and the possibility of building controversial deportation centres, called return hubs, outside Europe.

Asked about possible human rights breaches, as migrants—including families with children—are deported to countries with which they have no connection, Weimars said: “If we are talking about human rights, that includes the right of Europeans to live in safe societies governed by the rule of law.”

Commentary:
Seems even the European countries are sick and tired of the criminal elements that are infiltrating their countries and are doing something about it.
Rounding up the Islamic illegals should be easy, they’ll be the ones in streets protesting their deportations and burning down the cities.
Time for Democrats to wake up and smell the coffee.
We've been hearing from the border that the illegal alien sewage is starting to leak across the border again.
Democrats continue to fund illegal through their NGO's; entry into the U.S. and want to destroy the U.S.
I hope their “era of deportations” last a little longer than ours did.
