I was just going to say to each their own, but I would never harm a cat myself unless they were attacking me or a friend or family member. Other pets included.

I don't look at it as being my fault. I am protecting my property from intrusive pests. The owners are the ones to blame---they bear responsibility for taking care of THEIR pets.

I can't blame you there, but I'm just saying that I personally would never harm a cat unless I had to.

LOL. Declawing cats traumatizes them? Oh give me a break. OK, yeah, I'll give you the fact that the surgery might hurt the cat for a while but once the cat recovers they are no longer traumatized. I've been around plenty of declawed cats in my days and not one has been "depressed". They are being drama queens about it.

Besides that, California has so many problems going on in their state and, instead of addressing real life problems, they spend their time passing cat declawing legislation? Typical California BS. By the way, they seem to be fine with chopping penises and breasts off of real live human being children but don't declaw cats!

I have always declawed my cats. Just the front claws. It makes for a much happier well adjusted cat. Right now I live with cats that belong to my son. They are not declawed. They are nervous wrecks. They have half a dozen scratch posts and still scratch the furniture. The curtains are in ribbons and they swipe at anyone who gets near. Someone is always yelling at them.

I never once had to yell at any of my cats.

Declawing a cat is more than a manicure. It is like removing the tips of your fingers down to the first joint. Cats just don't use their paws like humans do hands.

There is the whole problem. It stops people from getting a cat. Cats that would have homes, don't get that chance. Many are euthanized when they could have been loved companions.

Actually the cats are much happier. Certainly better behaved. Their paws are sore for a couple of days then they don't even notice. Older people may be able to give a cat a good home but don't. The skin of an older person is thin. A small scratch can bleed heavily and for a long time.

I don't agree with your view about cats but everything else I completely agree with you on.

Well, it depends on where you live and how much traffic you have as well as the wildlife. I would NEVER let my cat out here as too much traffic and we have coyotes.

It's barbaric! How can anybody do that to an animal? Then when they go into the litterbox it hurts them and they'll start having problems of going outside of it.
