Mind you, this is a Canadian Airline, but I can't help but wonder if a presumption of being qualified is due to his gender and race.

While I have a reasonable confidence in the FAA and the airlines' vetting process, it's hard to fathom anyone other than a white male being able to pull this off and for so long, for what I would hope are obvious reasons.

Anyway, is there any way we can blame DEI for this one?

Possibly. Who were the government officials who are tasked with pilot reviews. Are they DEI hires?

I read the OP title and said wow, how did this happen and then I saw who posted it and I could have predicted that you would have put a unsubstantiated racist spin on it---but you're not a racist, LOL.

He was apparently a former pilot.

It is peel Region Police territory along with RCMP. Both of these forces have horrible reputarions (TPS does as well). To such a degree, I suspect, that only a few U.S police forces would be stupid enough to believe anything they say.

Regardless, the made the arrest and then made sure to make it a big deal through media, since they are usually corrupt (their chief of police make $600k a year, not a typo. THAT is Canada's police state).

Why would it be a presumption?
Are you familiar with the Canadian airline's vetting process?

Bit hypocritical to accuse one of being presumptuous and then jumping in the same pool with both feet.

hmmm, I can't help but wonder if America may really have run out of 'racist' problems as now we have to import the racism from canada.

If he passed all his training and checkrides for 20 years, maybe this is just a paperwork thing....I mean our bona fide American pilots seem to have trouble landing right side up and not taxiing into other planes these days so we shouldn't be throwing stones, at least not big ones.

Okay, he's an undocumented pilot.

Look . . . sounds like they need undocumented pilots to command and fly planes that Canadians won't.

1) He hasn't crashed and killed a single passenger or crew member.
2) If he does, well . . . documented pilots have crashes also.
3) Assuming this is the only undocumented pilot flying in Canada and has had no crashes, that means that undocumented pilots statistically have fewer crashes than documented ones.

ergo, ipso facto.

The RCMP don't really function in Ontario. That's because we have the Ontario Provincial Police. The RCMP only function in provinces with no provincial police forces, but thanks for proving, once again, that you don't live in Canada.

The Chief of Police's salary doesn't make Canada a "police state", moron. His base salary. Toronto and Vancouver both have a base Chief of Police salary of close to $500,000. Peel's Chief received a one-time additional payment for unused vacation time - $115,000, that made him the highest paid police chief in Canada.

Roles and Jurisdiction
Because Ontario has its own provincial police force, the RCMP's responsibilities in the province are highly specialized:
  • Federal Policing: Investigates organized crime, human trafficking, economic crime, and terrorist threats.
  • Border Integrity: Patrols waterways, borders, and airports to prevent smuggling and illegal immigration.
    • Protective Services: Provides security for government officials, dignitaries, and major national events.
    • Specialized Support: Houses the National Anti-Fraud Centre and offers tactical and technical support to other police agencies. [1, 2, 3]

But thanks for proving, yet again, that you don't live in Ontario.

The RCMP in Ontario operates the same as the FBI does here in the states, in other words they are federal, or national level law enforcement.

They perform no local law enforcement duties because ontario handles those aspects.

She pretends she is Canadian. Probably Russian or Iranian or something...

American pilots? weren't they Canadian also?
They crashed in Canada but were out of Minnesota. I think I saw somewhere the lady flying the plane at the time was from South Dakota and had just qualified right before the crash.

15th post
CEOs get their jobs with fake documents.
Politicians create their own corrupt organized crime with fake news and fake documents.
People who can't afford college get fake documents and licenses and diplomas to get high paying jobs.

Whats your point???

Racists love calling others racists in the belief that they`re clearing themselves. It`s been going on for decades. :clap2:

No it does not and never has. The RCMP functions as the provincial police in eight of the ten provinces, which don't have their own provincial police forces. The FBI doesn't function as the state police force in any US state.

If you're being investigated for federal crimes in Ontario, it's the Ontario Provincial Police doing the investigating.

But thanks for proving you know NOTHING about Canada.
