California is completely free of drought for the first time in 25 years

Did you know that is one of the worst conceived myths is about California falling into the ocean? The San Andreas fault is slipping, not spreading. Many years in the future, Los Angeles will be where San Francisco is now.

Damn, you could have left us with one decent fairytale to enjoy, but Nooooooo!

Now we're just stuck with that stupid Progressive Liberal nightmare fairytale about how awesome the world will be under Global Socialism, and it doesn't even matter that everyone knows it's a fantasy.

Sorry! Sometimes the truth hurts, but liberals just don't get it!

Did you know that Liberals aren't really Progressive Liberals and that they can be more Conservative than Modern Conservatives? In fact, they tend to desire limiting the federal government to the bare minimum and letting the states handle most of the heavy lifting in social governing/welfare aspects.

So there, back at you buddy, mess with me and see what happens. :auiqs.jpg:

If you are referring to classical liberals, I get it. But they are like dinosaurs who died out.

That's true and we are archaic if not dead, because we are useless to the establishment on either side of the aisle other than the fact that we do vote.

If the Libertarians weren't total fruitcakes that would prefer to throw the baby out with the bathwater, or fight with each other about the significance of the color green, then they might be of some use, but that hasn't happened yet either.

Anyway, off topic.
Wonder if California just has more water in reserve now since so many folks are leaving.

And that is only the part of California west of the San Andreas Fault. The rest is remaining exactly where it is.

What supervolcano in Africa?
its not in Africa....i was watching a show about the yellowstone volcano it said if the volcano on the island of Sao Tome and Princepe ever went the tsunami it would cause would bring lots of problems for our east coast...

Uh oh. The Climate has changed again. AOC is going to have to tack on another 12 years for the planet's demise.

I can’t click on anything from Yahoo because it highjacks my browser

Also, according to the climate models, the Arctic has been completely ice free since 2005

When Earth does warm, which it is not doing now, would there be more rain or less?
A warmer Earth generally means a wetter atmosphere with more intense rainfall, but it also leads to drier conditions in other areas, creating a "wetter wet and drier dry" pattern where wet regions get wetter and dry regions get drier, exacerbating extremes like floods and droughts. Warmer air holds more moisture, intensifying the water cycle, resulting in heavier downpours and stronger storms in some places, while increasing evaporation and water stress in already arid regions.

Why a Warmer Earth is Wetter (and Drier)
  • More Atmospheric Moisture: A warmer atmosphere can hold significantly more water vapor (about 7% more for every 1°C of warming), fueling heavier precipitation.
  • Intensified Water Cycle: Increased evaporation from land and ocean leads to more moisture in the air, which translates to more intense, though not necessarily more frequent, rainfall events.
  • "Wet Gets Wetter, Dry Gets Drier": Climate models and observations show wet areas (like high latitudes and tropics) are becoming wetter, while dry subtropical regions (like the Mediterranean, parts of Australia) are becoming drier, according to this report.
Regional Impacts
  • Increased Flooding: Many urban areas are already seeing increased hourly rainfall intensity, leading to more frequent flooding and landslides.
  • Worsened Droughts: Increased evaporation dries out soils, intensifying droughts and heatwaves in dry regions.
  • Shifting Patterns: Changes in atmospheric circulation can shift rain belts and monsoon systems, affecting billions who rely on seasonal rains.
In essence, a warmer world doesn't just mean more rain everywhere; it supercharges the water cycle, leading to more extreme contrasts between wet and dry conditions.

how is it fake news when its on a show about volcanoes....take it up with their geologist....geezus....
The island you mentioned is just off the coast of Africa and is a shield volcano Where the island is located it would not be a threat to the east coast of the US but more to South America.

I think you confused the island with this one:
The Cumbre Vieja tsunami hazard refers to the risk that a volcanic eruption on the island of La Palma, Canary Islands, Spain, could cause a large landslide triggering a megatsunami in the Atlantic Ocean. Volcanic islands and volcanoes on land frequently undergo large landslides/collapses, which have been documented in Hawaii for example.

i hear ya admiral, but the people on that show said it would hit us .. :dunno:

A volcano in that location of Africa devastating North America?

No.

Now the above article is about something similar in the Canary Islands, which has a direct path to the US Coast, and there is no threat from there.

Just because it is a "show about volcanos" does not mean it is real or accurate. I see a hell of a lot of junk science floating out there, and any claim like that should be discarded.

And that was was dismissed a year ago, most notably by the fact it is not a supervolcano, and because there have been previous events such as that described and no tsunami occurred.

But people love to be scared, so will often eat up anything that scares them.
