More people leaving the USA than in recent memory

Sorry guys, call me slow but, who are these people that are leaving the country, real Americans, or immigrants? Also, where are they generally moving to? America, with all its flaws (and I admit there are plenty), is still one of the best countries on earth. Heck, lord knows I wish I were American. I literally cannot imagine there is a better country that's worth moving to.

Um, I think a lot of people in this thread, especially of the conservative persuasion, are confused about exactly who's leaving and why.

That, and maybe they didn't read the OP's full OP.
Travel is a Fool’s Paradise , Moving to Spain or Italy is worse …

It would be nice if the ones leaving were the criminals, job stealers and welfare slacker illegal aliens. We never needed them in the first place, except for Democrats trying to cheat on elections.

If the information is correct, the more interesting story would be, Why.

I have a couple acquaintances who are planning to leave and it has nothing to do with politics. It is seen as an adventure with cultural and financial benefits, one moving to Italy and one to Mexico.

Anyone leaving the U.S. because Trump was elected, and he is doing what he campaigned on…an idiot. Good riddance.

Americans appear to be leaving the U.S. at once-in-a-century levels, fleeing divisive politics and a cost of living crisis.

In 2025, the flow of Americans ditching the 50 states for good caused the first estimated net outward migration of the U.S. population in decades, something that likely hasn’t happened since the 1929 Great Depression.

“Previously, the Americans leaving were super-adventurous and well-credentialed,” Jen Barnett, founder of the resettlement consultancy firm Expatsi, told The Wall Street Journal. “Now they’re ordinary people, like me.”

In 2024, Barnett joined in the trend, relocating to Yucatán, Mexico.

The U.S. government doesn’t officially track the number of Americans who’ve resettled abroad, so estimates of just how many people left can vary.

But within the US, the migration from Blue states can be seen as well as the cost of living in places like Hawaii and California are too much for most Americans.

And with inflation rising once again, and the DNC set to take the midterms, who will no doubt raise taxes too boot and not fix the inflation, will you be the next to consider the jump?
Hopefully it's those blue people leaving. Don't let the door hit you ..........................................

Hopefully, most of those who are leaving, are mostly more recent arrivals, and or leftists. If it's the latter, I will help pack their bags and drive them to the airport.
