No, there is no official war. But if you think that makes it peaceful you haven't been paying attention.
It all boils down to the fact that a place I have been enjoying for years needed some help. Especially since Biden's inauguration was coming up and a lot of trouble was expected. They asked for my help. I agreed to help. I did not seek out the moderator's position. I was asked. And I don't do it to feel important. First of all, it wouldn't be worth it if that was the motivation. And second of all, I don't give a rat's ass for the opinions of most of the people here.
I am happy for those who make money at it. But paid moderators have set schedules and must work a certain amount of hour. Here I work when I want. I left last week for a 6 day camping trip with a bunch of friends. Had a great time. The weather was mostly great, but we had rain showers a few days. I popped on a few times, but nothing major. That would have been difficult if I worked for one of the places you listed.
I am amused at your obsession with my volunteering on this site. At least you have stopped with the "slavery" thing. But your obsession is hilarious.
Now, get back on topic. Derailing the thread in an attempt to make some ridiculous point about me (shows your insecurity) is a waste of time and space.

AS for guns sales will go thru the roof if the NRA is no more. That said the NRA will be stopped when the last American gives up his gun which is never happening POP. There is more chance of Jesus disappearing than the spirit of the NRA.
