Seattle's Socialist Mayor learned nothing from Hochul. When will she be begging the successful to move back?

Hochul famously told the rich to hit the road, then had to eat crow and beg them to come back for even higher taxes to fund her socialist schemes.


The socialist in Seattle is doing the same thing. They never learn.


While speaking at a forum at Seattle University earlier this month, the new Democratic mayor said, "I think the claims that millionaires are going to leave our state are like super overblown."

"And the ones that leave, like, bye," she continued, waving her hand and laughing. Though the line drew laughs and applause from those in the auditorium, it did not go over as well online, as conservatives quickly blasted the new Seattle mayor.


"Seattle's Socialist Mayor responds to exodus of wealth from Washington State by saying "BYE" ... then laughing. We're doomed," wrote Brandi Kruse.

Kruse's post has been seen over 4 million times on social media as of Friday morning.

Popular conservative account "End Wokeness" also posted on X, writing, "Mayor Wilson seems to welcome the idea of a wealth exodus from Seattle. This is the FA part. FO coming soon."

"Enjoy, Seattle," Fox News contributor Guy Benson posted on X.

Cause they already know that income tax isn't just for millionaires.......so if/when they do move out, it'll be the rest of the population that'll have to pay and there's more than a few million of them to make up for the few that leave


I don't know how true it is and haven't verified it......but there is supposed to be some kind of 'hot mic' type of moment that lawmakers have said just that......something to the effect of 'well, the first hurdle has been crossed to get it implemented for everyone'

I hope it's not true, but I'm not holding my breath

They simply don't get that if those people leave, you just don't lose the additional money you were going to rope from them, you lose the base money they had been paying for years.

So in trying to squeeze 50k more out of them you lose the 150k they were already paying.
