Bush got Congressional approval before invading Afghanistan and Iraq

"The legality of the U.S. operation was immediately questioned by Democrats. Rep. Jim Himes of Connecticut, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said he had seen no evidence justifying military action without approval from Congress and warned of the risk of instability in Venezuela."

Trump was within his presidential powers to attack shipping. (questionable)

But the invasion and occupation of Venezuela without Congressional approval is an act of war that must be approved by Congress

If it happened to us, would we consider it an invasion and act of war?

Of course we would so it's an invasion and an act of war.
.

Well, guess what.

You aren't going to change it no matter how much you whine.

And you're facing three more years of the hunted having become the Hunter.

.

This is right out of the TRUMP Playbook

Just like the East Wing of the White House, just tear it down and then it is too late to say no

Trump knew Congress would not approve of occupying Venezuela….so just attack and take it over

What can Congress do about it?

recent history and actions/inactions would dictate that congress can't even recognize an invasion never mind find the will to stop one.

Why didn’t Trump?

Was it because he feared Congress would say no?
The 2001 AUMF passed by congress has never been rescinded. That formal declaration of war effectively gives the president congressional approval to use the military against anybody he wants to.

Are we the ones flooding our neighbors with dangerous drugs, cartels, and hosting international pariahs such as Iran within our borders?

Not a trick question.

But you've been on here forever spouting the same tired left wing talking points in the face of a tidal wave of an unrelenting reality that contradicts them.

So your position is not only unsurprising, it is of little consequence.

Exactly. Trump and his minions don’t a damn about the Constitution or separation of powers if it means Trump can;’t do what he wants to do.
Will Congressional Republicans stand up for their Constitutional checks and balances or will they once again cower to Trump?

2026 will be an election year.
If Trumps Venezuela occupation turns to shit, will Republicans stand behind it?

How many times did Barry Hussein ask, and get, Congressional approval for the 7 countries he bombed?

Republicans will always cower before Trump. That is a proven fact. Constitution v. Trump and Republicans will always support Trump.

We didn't invade Venezuela this was a military strike to capture and extract Maduro the strike force went in accomplished their mission and got out. Maybe if Congress didn't leak stuff to the media five minutes after they are told about it, they would be informed on things like this.
