Took too long, but hopefully now we'll get some justice on this awful abuse of power.

A federal appeals court spanked the IRS Tuesday, saying it has taken laws designed to protect taxpayers from the government and turned them on their head, using them to try to protect the tax agency from the very tea party groups it targeted.

The judges ordered the IRS to quickly turn over the full list of groups it targeted so that a class-action lawsuit, filed by the NorCal Tea Party Patriots, can proceed. The judges also accused the Justice Department lawyers, who are representing the IRS in the case, of acting in bad faith — compounding the initial targeting — by fighting the disclosure.

“The lawyers in the Department of Justice have a long and storied tradition of defending the nation’s interests and enforcing its laws — all of them, not just selective ones — in a manner worthy of the Department’s name. The conduct of the IRS’s attorneys in the district court falls outside that tradition,” Judge Raymond Kethledge wrote in a unanimous opinion for a three-judge panel of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. “We expect that the IRS will do better going forward.”

I didn't even know The Tea Party still existed, we never really hear too much about them anymore.

They're still around. They've been victims of a brutal witchhunt, but hopefully they'll see some justice.

Gee.....how did this happen....how many times did libs say nothing to see move along...........

Personally, i don't think it's enough. Criminal charges should have been filed against IRS officials. So far, they've gotten away with everything. Maybe this ruling will lead to prosecutions. I sure hope so.

They wouldnt be doing same in all these other scandals we've been told are just a waste pursuing would they????? NNNOOOOOOOO

While Liberals were claiming the IRS had done nothing and just BEFORE her infamous sad attempt to claim the 5th before Congress, Lous Lerner admitted to a reporter that her department had indeed targeted Conservative groups inappropriately. The links to these reports of this were posted all over this board at the time. Still liberals denied it, contradicting Lerner herself.

It is nice now to see it - the truth- about this criminal, abusive administration come out.

Yeah, i won't be satisfied until criminal charges are filed. Lerner is a despicable criminal.

Frankly I think employees of the IRS should be quartered and shot.

The dictatorship is coming to an end which is why this was even possible. It is unfortunate that Obama will ever be punished but perhaps we can start to enforce immigration laws that way we can kick him out of this country after 2016.

Yeah, he had to know what his IRS lackeys were doing. It's shocking no criminal charges have been filed against any IRS officials. Are we still a nation of laws?

I wouldn't be surprised if the current batch of republican representatives was helping. Consider that fact many tea party groups wanted to replace them with someone else. We should look in that direction as well.

Using the IRS as a political weapon is despicable and should send a shiver down the spine of every American.

Absolutely. Both Republicans and Democrats should be on board seeking justice on this awful abuse of power.
