The Biden administration is moving forward with the new leasing, and White House press secretary Jen Psaki said their hands are tied.

"We're required to comply with the injunction; it's a legal case and legal process," Psaki told reporters Monday. "But it's important for advocates and other people out there to understand that it's not aligned with our view, the President's policies or the executive order that he signed."
Psaki said the US Department of Justice is appealing the Louisiana decision.

What are "normal rates"? What incentives do oil companies have to produce more oil? You may not be aware of this, but oil companies love high oil prices. They make more money with less expenses.

You are dead wrong. Oil companies love high oil prices, but they want to produce as much as oil they can. So, you will see more output when the price is high and less output when the price is low. It is because they can not ctl the price, only OPEC can (maybe Russian can move a needle a little too now)
