The price went up well before Putin and the Russian Oligarchs. Biden and the Democrats put pressure on the banks not to lend to the oil companies, before Russia and the Oligarchs.

Biden Harris were very in their campaigns that they were going after US fossil fuel companies with regulations. On Day 1 in office, they started passing executive orders reflecting that. The Biden supporters were all for that.

Yet they defend Biden and/or they deny that increased regulatory actions by an administration towards an industry will have anything but a positive response from global markets. Biden Defenders point to record production, oil companies not using leases, and Keystone not being significant as excuses or reasons why Biden should not be held accountable or impacting higher prices. The Markets disagree with them. In addition, if voters are paying $5.00 per gas, voters are going to want changes.
