No, not really. When some guy gets an unexplained W-2 it doesn't work. If this was happening these stories would be front page news daily. You rarely see it.

If it was actually verified the government would flag dual employment claims. Would some be legit? Yes but if it was verified and one actually wanted it to work, it would not work for a person to be roofing houses in Arizona and milking cows in Wisconsin at the same time.

It would not work for a S.S. number associated with a 79 year old man in Alabama working on a fishing boat in California.
