So you’re passing laws because parents are incompetent?Schools have IT departments to lockdown and manage computers. Most parents are unable to provide the same.

My grandson easily circumvented those filters at school. The state was in control and provided the internet access, not his parents. In fact, it was impossible for his parents to do anything in the situation, the state had responsibility, which we are hearing in this thread should not happen.
How do you stop your kids from being exposed to porn?So you’re passing laws because parents are incompetent?
Free wifi at macDonalds and many other places
You probably cant. How do you stop your kids from being exposed to porn?
There has to be something better than a required registration process, but right now I am not coming up with anything.
I understand the desire for something like this, but the problem is one of implementation that doesn't overly burden people accessing this stuff legally.
The ability for parents to have good access to account level parental controls so they have better control over content going to their childs devicees.

So why are you criticizing the parents that support this law as "incompetnt"You probably cant.
Because they demand the state do what they can’t.So why are you criticizing the parents that support this law as "incompetnt"
If you read my subsequent posts, I think making porn sites use a domain like "XXX" would make it easier for filters to do their job.
To me its a good compromise.
How is making all porn sites use ",xxx" as a domain so filters can work easier violating the rights of others?
is it somehow harder for a person to type in armlessmidgets.xxx than armlessmidgets.com?
I’m happy to hear thatPublic access WiFi dosen't mean porn access via that WiFi.

McDonald's has put an end to an unexpected consequence of offering free Wi-Fi
Customers can no longer watch porn at McDonald's, thanks to a new filtered Wi-Fi policy.www.businessinsider.com

Porn will be and is posted on many sites. Not just "porn" sites. Even those who seem to support this law are agreeing it's not going to stop kids from accessing porn.
And what you are suggesting isn't even what this law does.
I know it isn't what this law does, It's what I would propose instead of this law.
You designate live sex acts or cartoon sex acts as requiring an XXX domain name.
That's it. If sites don't do it, they can be prosecuted under whatever law designates the XXX domain name.
Kids can simply take pics of each other and have and will.

Gun buyers should have to take a drug test and the ones who leave their guns in their vehicle overnight for non-law-abiders to steal, should be permanently banned from owning one. The FBI stats tell us that 40,000 are stolen from vehicles every year, but unfortunately, we`re up against the gun/criminal lobby. Nation`s Real Ayeholes, aka the NRA gets funding from the gun manufacturers.I can actually see the objection to requiring proof of age for this. It's like a registration process, sort of like guns. The government wants your ID and for you to be on a registration list. I'm pretty sure the right would be against a registration list for everyone who owns guns, and, you have to be a certain age to buy a gun, meaning that the government could require you to be in a registration data base whenever you buy guns or ammo. While it's a good idea to not let minors buy guns, like minors viewing porn, I don't think we want the government having a registration list of everyone viewing porn or buying a gun.
that's another issue. This handles the issue at hand (lol)
The objective is to limit access to things like this, ending it entirely is a fool's errand.
It accomplishes nothing but providing hackers an extremely rich database at access lots of personal information. No I'm for passing laws protecting children's access to harmful materials.
If one has to provide proof of age to view porn in a store the same should apply to internet.
