Because demand was lower overall, while they have had a disproportionately high positivity rates and case numbers. Notice, they are still getting a lot. Because they have places with sky high transmission rates.

No, i think that is what they ordered a week before the article. Which would have been 72% of the weekly total being shipped out nationally at the time. Keep in mind, the doses have only been getting shipped out since August 12 (article written 9/15). Per the article, Florida had actually administered 90,000 doses thus far out of 400,00 to 500,000 shipped. Pretty high proportion, given how many of those 500,000 doses were not yet even used.

What are you bitching about? There was a shortage announced earlier and so it had to be planned to go where needed most. Florida is way down the list of new covid deaths yesterday/today at 35th in the nation. Tennessee announce a little while ago, that the surges is slowing down in Memphis and Jackson (where I live) and supplies were expected to continue to be available at all 220 providers. Were still at 18th in the nation on new Covid deaths, which is close to where I would expect with the 15th largest state population in the country.
