BIden about to give annual Memorial Day speech

He will do his typical stolen valor thingy and claim that his son was a war hero that died in combat.

your chosen one actually took the purple heart medal from a vietnam vet who offered his to donny. what president bone spur shoulda done was refuse it with many thanx to the misguided soldier. now it's probably in some landfill.

Of course his son served briefly in Iraqi as a Navy lawyer stationed in the Green Zone, billeted in one of Saddam's grand residences.

Biden Links Burn Pits, National Guard Son's Cancer Death

Beau Biden, a judge advocate general (JAG) officer in the Delaware National Guard, died from brain cancer in 2015. He had been deployed to Iraq in 2009, and worked as a civilian lawyer with the U.S. attorney's office in Kosovo.

A book published last year, "The Burn Pits: The Poisoning of America's Soldiers," by former Army Staff Sgt. Joseph Hickman, includes a chapter on Beau Biden's cancer and its possible links to burn pit exposure.

In the interview, Joe Biden said he had been unaware of any potential link before reading that book.

"There's a whole chapter on my son Beau in there, and that stunned me. I didn't know that," he said in the interview.

Burn pits were routinely used in Iraq and Afghanistan to dispose of waste. Although government officials have declined to establish a firm link between burn pits and veterans' health problems, including rare forms of cancer and respiratory diseases, the Department of Veterans Affairs in 2014 established a registry for veterans to log their exposure and complaints.

More than 120,000 veterans have logged themselves in the registry. An estimated three million are eligible to join, according to the VA.

What are military burn pits? And why are veterans worried about them?

What are burn pits?

Until the mid-2010s, burn pits were commonly used in Iraq, Afghanistan and other overseas locations to dispose of waste collected on military bases. That included items that produced dangerous toxic smoke when burned, such as plastics, rubber, chemical mixtures and medical waste.

In some locations, the fires were massive operations. At Joint Base Balad — one of the largest military bases in Iraq — the burn pit covered nearly 10 acres, with the resulting smoke passing over the entire base as winds shifted.

The Department of Defense has estimated nearly 3.5 million troops from recent wars may have suffered enough exposure to the smoke to cause health problems.

Cancer Linked to Burn Pit Smoke Among Veterans

Veterans of military operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other countries in Southwest Asia are likely familiar with the sight of burn pits. Inside, burning garbage and waste of all types (including human waste and damaged military vehicles) filled the surrounding air with toxic particles. Now, increasing numbers of veterans are being diagnosed with cancer linked to burn pit smoke.

The massive, controlled, improvised landfill fires sometimes stretched several football fields in length. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) estimates over 3 million prior service members are at risk of health problems from the inhalation of burn pit fumes.

Airborne Hazards from Burn Pits

The burn pits were used to get rid of a range of trash—construction and human waste, metal and aluminum, munitions and unexploded ordnance, petroleum, plastics, rubber, wood, and more. Inhaling the smoke from these pits is like breathing in the smoke of a building fire. Consequently, prior service members face the same types of airborne exposure hazards as first responders and firefighters.

In addition to over 1,000 carcinogens in burn pit smoke, exposure to the particulate matter found in the fumes has been linked to cancer and other health problems such as:

  • Aggravated asthma
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Early death in those with heart or lung disease
  • Impaired lung function
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • Nonfatal heart attacks

Trump suffered from bone spurs

Otherwise, he would have proudly served.
He did know more than the Generals and received two “neatness and orderly.” Medals while in military prep schools
this is true. Xiden on the other hand thought he knew more then the generals and ignored their pleas to keep trump levels of troops in afghan leading to death and a surrender

“Trump levels of troops“ was down to 2500
Not enough to shield the evacuation

No, actually the Generals wanted an increase in troop strength and an extension of the withdrawal date.

Biden stayed the course
