Fox's Rivera Claimed Obama Administration Failed To Heed Warning Of Benghazi Attacks. On the October 17 edition of Fox & Friends, Fox host Geraldo Rivera claimed a press release issued on September 10, 2012 was evidence the Obama administration had notice of a threat to the diplomatic facility in Benghazi but did nothing to prevent the attacks:

RIVERA: What does the press release say the day before the attacks on the Cairo embassy and the consulate in Benghazi and other facilities around the country? The press release on September 10, 2012, says there is a heightened terror alert, be on the lookout, all our people have now been informed. You can't answer these two questions satisfactorily:

A) How did anyone know how long the attack would last?

B) What do you do when US forces, including a U.S. Ambassador, are under a sustained attack and you don't know if the attack has concluded?

I'll help you out.

A) No one knew how long the attack would last.

B) You send as much assistance as possible, as quickly as possible until you know the outcome or you save them or know the situation is hopeless. That is standard operating procedure.

You don't guess or assume you won't get there in time.

You send the cavalry.

Obama, Hillary and the military higher ups did not know the outcome of the attack until much much later.

If they had done what they normally would do, they could have gotten there in time to save some of the dead.

But at least, even if all you wanted to do was cover your own ass, you'd send a force to make it APPEAR you did all you could.

The Obama Administration didn't even do that little bit.

Everyone knew it was an act of terror. Heck, it could have been a single guy with a mental disorder who took a brick and hit anyone he saw over the head and it would have been an act of terror.

What Obama did in the rose garden was talk about the irresponsibility of the film and then said "no act of terror will go unpunished"....(or something like that).....so anyone listening did not hear him blame it on anything but the film.

Now, why is this important?

Because if it were a terrorist attack....AN ATTACK BY TERRORISTS....all of us would expect our President to deal with the situation in a presidential way.....not jump on a plane and fly to Vegas for a fundraiser.

Furthermore, if he admitted it was a terrorist attack, it would contradict his campaign slogan of "al quaeda is on the run"

And finally.....

The administration claims that the military did not have enough time to get there before the siege ended.

But that is not what happened.

What happened?

The following day he asked the military "how long would it have taken you to get there"...and they answered 10 hours....

But how did he know the day before, while the siege was happening how long it would last?

Every attack is a "terror" attack -- if you're in the building.

there is a monumental difference between an act of terror and a terrorist attack.

Example:

A drunk driver is one who is committing an act of terror in the eyes and minds of the people around him. He is not a terrorist for his intent is not to kill....but his actions are those of terror to those around him.

A terrorist attack defines the person COMMITTING the attack....it is a TERRORIST attack.....a terrorist is one who is intentionally committing an act of terror.

One defines the act, the other defines the person.

Obama used the term "act of terror" in the rose garden so he can fall back on it and say "I called it a terrorist act from day one"...

And fools like you believed him.
