Ben Carson Says Muslims Should Be Disqualified From Presidency

Hey look another thread based on a misquote...so surprised
Annoying.

What's more annoying for me personally is that I agree with Democrats (or at least disagree with Republicans) on a majority of the issues. And it makes it a bit tougher when those with whom I agree insist on being so nasty and dishonest so damn often.

If you have to lie to make a "point", maybe your "point" isn't all that strong. So this crap constantly makes me have to challenge my own views.

Ben Carson Says Muslims Should Be Disqualified From Presidency
A supporter at a Donald Trump created quite a stir on Thursday when, among other incendiary remarks, he falsely claimed President Obama was a Muslim.

But the comment raises an interesting question: What if it were true? Why should it matter if Obama was a Muslim?

On Meet The Press, Chuck Todd posed that exact question to Ben Carson, the retired neurosurgeon who is closely trailing Trump in the polls. Carson said he would not support a Muslim president and that only candidates with a faith “consistent with the Constitution” should be President.

CHUCK TODD: Let me wrap this up by finally dealing with what’s been going on, Donald Trump, and a deal with a questioner that claimed that the president was Muslim. Let me ask you the question this way. Should a President’s faith matter? Should your faith matter to voters?

BEN CARSON: Well, I guess it depends on what that faith is. If it’s inconsistent with the values and principles of America, then of course it should matter. But if it fits within the realm of America and consistent with the constitution, no problem.

TODD: So do you believe that Islam is consistent with the constitution?

CARSON: No, I don’t, I do not.

TODD: So you–

CARSON: I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation. I absolutely would not agree with that.

In other words, it's plain common sense. Muslims view America as the enemy. They despise everything American stands for. Only the insane would vote for a Muslim.

bigot

[big-uh t]
noun
1.a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion.

Plenty of bigots on both ends of the political spectrum.
.

I'm intolerant of people who believe and practice stupidity. Guess I qualify
If we can all agree that we're bigoted to some extent, maybe those who keep screaming about it will stop screaming.

Naw, just kidding, I know they won't do that. They have no problem being hypocrites.

I'm still shocked a guy named Barack Hussein Obama got elected president.

I don't understand that myself. If your position is right, why would you need to lie to push I forward. The truth is a much more powerful force of persuasion.

Yep. This does get frustrating.

The pants shitters who live in daily fear of the Muslims under their bed are the very same people who have been turning our country into a Nazi police state.

They got a good head start under Bush after 9/11. Department of Fatherland Homeland Security. Domestic spying. An obsession over was or wasn't wearing an armband flag pin. Waterboarding prisoners. On and on.

If and when there is another terror attack, you can be absolutely sure these will be the people who will surrender our freedoms in a heartbeat in exchange for "safety". Meter maids will be shooting double parkers.

"He had dark skin, coulda been Middle Eastern."

Manufactured BS by the media and you all fall for it hook line and sinker.
It's Pathetic.

So we should ignore his book. The people who raised him. The people he surrounds himself with. What he says and does. Heck liberation theology is a Marxist corruption of Christianity. Even his spiritual leaders encourage that crap and it's common sense to you to ignore that.

Sorry I don't shove my head in the sand.
His book says nothing about wanting to follow Marxism, MLK WAS A SOCIALIST. Does that mean anyone who was inspired by him is now a socialist? Of course not, but I don't expect a rwnj to understand common sense. You keep talking about these people he surrounds himself with being Marxist, why don't you name them? I forgot you're a liar.

MLK wasn't a socialist. Talk about revisionist.

Dreams FROM my father. What was his father's dream? Marxism.
No, by the end of his life, he was a socialist.

The Evolution of Dr. King | Jacobin

Bwahahaha:

Jacobin is a leading voice of the American left, offering socialist perspectives on politics, economics, and culture. The print magazine is released quarterly and reaches over 10,000 subscribers, in addition to a web audience of 600,000 a month.

Good. You were able to use Google to find out a little about the magazine. I noticed you didn't find anything to discredit the information in the article.

No need to google. I'm simply clicked on his link and that's the first thing the stupid site announced. "We are a radical leftist socialist website totally out of touch with reality and the truth". Ha ha ha.

Right. So you couldn't show any of the information given is wrong.

Gay marriage is a recent phenomenon forced down the throats of an unwilling public by bullies and leftist fascists who are trying to impose their warped ideological vision of social engineering upon Western civilization.

And yet you compare THAT to the barbarism of the Shariah shitholes we see across the Islamic world. Take a hike.

In other words we compare something don't like with something you do like, and you say we can't compare the two.

In other words it's a false comparison. Most of the countries living under Shariah law are barbaric shitholes of intolerance and persecution. While most Christian nations are tolerant democracies.

Yes, Sharia Law countries are not great places for freedom, human rights, democracy etc.

However saying that in one sentence, then saying that the US should take away human rights and freedom from Americans doesn't exactly make your case for freedom and Human Rights any better, does it?

Shariah takes away human rights and that's basically what Ben Carson correctly noted.

Yes, Sharia isn't about Human Rights. Not all Muslims are into Sharia though. Also, there are people who aren't Muslims who are also into taking away people's Human Rights, such as people like Davis who wants to stop gay people getting married.

You can't be a devout true Muslim and not follow shariah law and shariah law is totally incompatible with freedom, democracy, tolerance, human rights, coexistence and of course the U.S. Constitution. Therefore a so called devout Muslim would have to denounce his faith in order to be able to follow the Constitution

Don't have to, it's an opinion piece on a radical leftist socialist blog. A non starter.

The fact that a candidate for POTUS thinks that religion should be a factor whether someone is ALLOWED to run despite what out CONSTITUTION says is disturbing to say the least.
Is that what he said?
.

Oh bloody hell- he might as well have said it. I said that's what he THINKS. Just like he THINKS women can't make rational 'educated' decisions about their own bodies...just like he THINKS prison life turns people gay.... just like he THINKS Obamacare is as bad as slavery was... just like he THINKS that the US has turned into Nazi Germany. :cuckoo:

So why is it out of the realm that he actually believes that Muslims aren't fit for position of POTUS ?
That's not what he said.

He said he would not support a Muslim for President, because he doesn't feel that Islam is consistent with the Constitution.

It's impossible to discuss this if you keep misrepresenting what he actually said.
.

Then he should have said ' I personally believe....' but he didn't. He went right up to the edge of that cliff (regarding Muslims being allowed to run for POTUS) but didn't jump off. Christianity, & Judaism isn't consistent with a secular Constitution either.

Do you think the religion of the current POTUS should have ever been raised over the past 7 years?

You can't? Why not? It's like saying you can't be a devout true Christian without doing X, Y or Z.

Religion is a personal thing. Many religious people think different things. Some hate gay people, others embrace gay people, some are gay people.

But I'd say a lot of redneck Christians (Kim Davis for example) would also have to renounce their style of religion in order to be President, I'd say Huckabee would too. His religious views are certainly not compatible, and was it Cruz or someone he bumped out of the Kim Davis photo? Anyone who supports Kim Davis is not fit to be President of the US and follow the US Constitution.

If he indeed went up to the edge of the cliff, the Democrats tried to push him off. And they're doing so in a very dishonest way, constantly and voluntarily misrepresenting what he said. As we see on this thread.

And to answer your question, I think this "Obama is a Muslim" stuff is ridiculous.

I'm consistent.

Do they? Did you ask them?

Poll reveals 40pc of Muslims want sharia law in UK

In the UK they have it at 40%. Even then I'm not sure.

Chapter 1: Beliefs About Sharia

68% of Muslims in Bosnia say they don't follow Sharia closely, in fact only 6 of the countries where they asked they found that more than 50% follow Sharia Law closely.

That's Iraq, Morocco, Malaysia, Indonesia, Afghanistan and Tajikistan. Even Pakistan it's only 41%.

However in say, Pakistan where the majority don't follow it closely, 91% of people said it was bad that laws don't follow Sharia closely. You get weird answers and I think how it's asked counts for a lot.

But in the US, how many Muslims want Sharia? I can't find out. Most is almost certainly not the right answer.

Just watch CNN try to put down Benny. HAHAHA! They just brought him up 10 points in the polls.
