You can't let people in, let them stay for years or decades, and then suddenly kick them out along with their children, while claiming to be a decent human being. The DREAM Act should have passed unanimously and proudly signed in a bi-partisan ceremony. Imagine you are a 15 year old who goes to apply for a learners permit and finds you you were actually born in Mexico and have no papers. You speak English well, since your parents made sure you were exposed to it at home because they knew that was the language of success in the U.S. You do well in school and you understand Spanish pretty well, but you are neither literate nor fluent in anything but English. What do you do? What is the "right thing?" Self-deport to a country you don't remember ever being in?
