Bakers fined for not working homosexual "wedding" continue fighting for their freedoms

When you say.....bake this cake in violation of your religious beliefs....you are violating the 1st Amendment of the Constitution....

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.[1]

Bake this cake in violation of your religious beliefs...or you will not be allowed to own a business...is a clear violation of the First Amendment...
"Not be allowed to own a business"...why do you lie so easily? Isn't that against one of the big 10 Commandments?

Baking a cake for money is not an expression of your First Amendment rights.

But refusing to do so can be.

Personally, I don't think this is limited to the first amendment. It's a much deeper violation of the fundamental freedom of conscience, the freedom to decide who to serve and who to shun.
That's not an option here. What you do for money you do for all unless you have a compelling reason? The client being gay isn't compelling.

So, you don't like PA laws. What have you actively done to get them repealed in your state?

Lots of things. You always ask this. Why?

So, when I get a license, that state will tell me what I can make so I know what kind of business I can run?
The state does not tell you what to make, but you must follow that state's business laws....if you want to make widgets, you still have to follow business law if you want t.hat license.

Yep...except the can't violate your religious freedom.......that is guaranteed in the Bill of Rights...

So...if you open a business and get a business license...does that mean the police can then search your property without a warrant? Do you surrender your 5th Amendment protections against self incrimination because you got a business license?

Your Rights do not stop because you opened a business....
Part of them do. A business owner is not the same as a street preacher or a schoolgirl.

No...a business owner can have religious beliefs...they do not surrender their Right to the free exercise of Religion simply because they open a business.......
However, if their religion keeps them from serving all the law requires, why be in that business? Kind of stupid...like a Muslim taxi-driver refusing to take people with pets as fare. Ridiculous.

I still would like to see what religion requires the cake to be at the marriage ceremony.
Cheesecakefactoryism.

So you are against PA laws?
Be more specific.

What are you actively doing to get them repealed in your state since you believe them wrong?
I do keep my legislators up to date and if they fail to hear then I become will become as active as possible to see that they will not be voted into office again. Concerning the courts here they have already proven they are liars and cheats and we documented that; not much more one can do than that.

And "god given constitutional rights"?
Yes the same rights that allow you the liberty to seek your own happiness as long as it is not treading on another persons freedoms and liberties.

Which god?
Jehovah, who is the same God that the founders of this great nation sought favor with when this county's Constitution was written to help form this nation.

What you do for money you do for all unless you have a compelling reason

Yeah, that's the insane premise at the heart of all this.
So..if you don't like the PA laws in your state, what are you actively doing to get them repealed? Because that sounds like what you would like, right? No PA laws at all?

Not everyone is required to believe in or follow your "jehovah" guy. You know that, right?

Yep. Again, what are you getting at? You seem to think you're making a point when you ask this.

No one says that you have to but the fact is as a believer I do have that right and you do not have the right to infringe upon my rights.

Her point is PA laws are constitutional. To change that you have to change the constitution or, grow the **** up?

There's nothing insane about it. It's common sense. Even Jesus knew that making a buck wasn't serving God and that was 2,000 years ago.

No, it's quite insane. Working for a living shouldn't mean giving up your rights.
Well, dummy, it does. You don't get to tell the Muslims they are going to Hell while taking their money. It annoys the owners of the company who lose Muslim customers.

If you want all your rights stand on a soapbox on the corner, and live in it.

We can repeal laws regardless of whether the Court considers them Constitutional or not.

You'd be wrong. If the Supreme Court does not agree then you're screwed. And they say these laws are constitutional.

Rights are not universal. You can jerk off to porn at home while naked but not in a shopping mall. Say whatever you like, on your own time not on that of the man who pays you. He makes the rules, not you.

Nope. I'm not owned, certainly not by my employer(s).
