Good one...Bruce Springsteen wrote a song about it~Martin Sheen and Sissie Spacek as a lawless couple on a killing spree. The movie is based on a real life couple, Charles Starkweather and Carol Fugate. In the movie the Spacek character ends up with probation but in real life Fugate gets 17 years and Starkweather is executed. The interesting part is Sheen trying to be James Dean and he almost pulls it off.
Sad. He made great sausageJames Dean died in 1955. Starkweather went on a killing spree in 1958 and there is no evidence that he even knew who Dean was. Hollywood decided that Starkweather would be portrayed as pretending to be James Dean and they decided that Martin Sheen would portray Starkweather pretending to be Dean. Did it work?
