Ax-Wielding Antifa Member Attacks GOP Senator's Office, Dems Give Him Money, FBI Returns Ax

I believe in let the punishment fit he crime. And our system puts people above property. It also realizes the prides and prejudices of the people, seeking to quell them. And enhances punishments consistent with those principles.

No you don't, because if you did you would find felony hate crime charges for defacing WORDS ON A STREET to be completely absurd.

Would you say the same of somebody simply spray painting a wall. Such as a swastika on a synagogue. No different than somebody writing their name on a subway car?

They are being overly dramatic. From what I could tell, the man was guilty of vandalizing an empty office. And they try to compare his actions to people threatening members of congress and the vice president with physical harm.
I could not believe there was not something else to this story, so I did my quicky research, reading about 5 article of the crime and punishment. I saw the CCT shot of him swinging the axe to break in, the shatter security glass of the door, in the door and on the floor. He then went inside and destroyed the phone system and other things in the office. It was an intentional violent, malevolent attack on the Senator's office and looked like it was meant to send a message.

Only far right wing rags made any mention of an Antifa connection, so I'm not certain it is true, but just as uncertain it isn't true. They were supposedly quoting in social media, partly on that connection partly about bragging what he did. Aren't we all getting sick and tire of these idiots of the left and right aggrandizing their bullshit on their social media pages? I hate the word social media. The worldwide webb is the most unsociable place on the planet and particularly so in this country, people showing no civilized respect for themselves, their supposed enemies to the death, their upbringing, or anyone, really. Just look at this place and some of the people on it. If they talked and acted the same in public, you'd be in a quandary whether to walk away pretending you were never talking to people like that, drop dime to the Department of Homeland Security, beat the sh#t out them or put 3 rounds center mass.

I take a real dim view of actions like perpetrated by this asshole, Stark and others like him whether on the crazy far left, the radical right, or straight up the middle, persuasion unknown. I also take a dim view of permissiveness of the courts, nullified juries, and what appears to be really shitty appointments to the bench, including some elected to sit the bench.

I don't know if excalibur has the absolute correct backstory on this Stark jerk or not, and he is often a modestly far right wing pain in the ass, though rarely crazy damn right wing and sometimes he's dead on. But I'll betcha a shiney dime, he didn't know it was a Trump appointed Chief Federal Court judge that said "give us damages only and go forth, sinning no more", rather than a year or more behind bars plus damages, and fines, with time to think about his mistakes, his attitude and shitty sense of citizenship. I doubt it was the antifa safety net, as I don't think one exists, but somebody went to the lick log on this deal, and he got off way to easy. If he hadn't posted this, I would have never known about it, so I am glad excalibur posted the thread.

1) I don't particularly believe in "hate crimes". Crime is crime. Prosecute it accordingly.
2) Even if I did, BLM is not a religion. Are you suggesting it is?

Your research is noted, and thank you.

Hate crimes are particularly egregious to the society. As the victims are not based, on any actions they have control over. They are the subject of crime solely because of who or what they are. Whether it be their race, religion, national origin, or sexual orientation.

hate crime
noun
a crime, typically one involving violence, that is motivated by prejudice on the basis of race, religion, sexual orientation, or other grounds.

No they are not. It's a lefty feelgood measure, nothing more. Whether you kill a gay man for the sake of killing, or kill a gay man for the sake of him being gay - the end result is the same. Calling it a "hate crime" adds absolutely NOTHING of substance.

And you conveniently ignored my question - is BLM a religion?

Which still changes nothing of the end result - someone was victimized. What the hell difference does the reason for victimizing them make?

I'll tell you: None.

This is where you're wrong. If you kill somebody purely for the sake of killing, then you would be just as likely to kill a gay man, as a straight man. A white woman, or an asian. Everybody would be equally at risk. But in a hate crime, a particularized group is the target, so the rest of society can pretend they're in no danger.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

You are arguing semantics while I am arguing reality - a crime is a crime, the reason is moot, the end result is the same. Killing a gay man results in a dead gay man. Killing a gay man out of animosity for his sexual orientation doesn't magically make him "deader".

"Hate crime" charges are emotionally based nonsense that change nothing.

And you STILL haven't answered whether BLM is a religion. I'm not letting that go.

Yep, get angry at someone and kill them, but the same anger but the person is a minority or some protected group (therein lies the problem, "protected" groups) and say a slur before killing the person and the killing becomes a hate crime. I guess killing is otherwise not hateful?

As to the matter of a "hate crime" for defacing a blm street marking, well that poster wouldn't answer.

The purpose of hate crimes is to create a new avenue to prosecute offenders for speech or thought. It also creates a sentiment of shared victimhood for anyone in the targeted group. It's all about control and allows the state to punish people for actions and ideas outside the actual crime at hand.

Yeah, we see how this will end. He'll push it one step too far and either kill someone or be killed.

Far-left miscreant Thomas Alexander Starks, 31, of Lisbon, North Dakota, pleaded guilty to destruction of government property last April. Starks brought an ax to Sen. John Hoeven’s office in Fargo on December 21, 2020, and smashed an intercom and glass door. The attack was captured on video.
Federal guidelines suggested Starks should spend 10–16 months in the hoosegow, but because he is a protected member of Antifa, he was sentenced to mere probation and ordered to pay $2,784 in restitution.
Keep in mind that there are people still in solitary confinement for taking non-violent selfies in the Capitol on January 6.
Even better, the FBI returned the ax he used in the attack. Starks is bragging about it on Facebook, where he goes by the name “Paul Dunyan,” a reference to the axman Paul Bunyan.
Starks openly admits to being a member of Antifa and has a history of threatening violence online. In one picture, Starks is seen wearing a Socialist Rifle t-shirt. Socialist Rifle is a left-wing fringe group that had communicated with Antifa mass shooter Connor Betts before he murdered nine people in Dayton, Ohio, back in 2019.

This guy will likely eventually kill someone..........

Sane well thought out post. Thanks.

PJmedia.

You folks are really, really dumb, and that's one of thousands of reasons why.
Can you prove it didn't happen? Oh, right, leftists don't need proof.

"If it makes Democrats look bad, it obviously didn't happen."

You're not going to convince any rational people with your intellectual weakness. Perhaps you'd best just run along now.
