Assume that, today, the 1994 AWB is reinstated.
A year from now, how does this prevent someone like Mateen from legally buying an AR15 and shooting up another nightclub?
10 years from now?

As with all legislation you write the best law you can, then amend or change it later if needed.

How anyone can support a person that is on the FBI watch list and has been investigated by the FBI for terrorist activites buying a gun, ANY gun, is just insane. If you can't start with a short list of the most suspicious then where exactly do you start? Really, you are going to defend this dirtbag having access to an assault weapon? Or a BB gun for that matter?

Bizarre.

Funny.....how is the no fly list going to stop them from getting a gun if they want one...?

Can anyone explain that?

The Orlando killers wife knew about him...odds are she would straw buy him a gun as well.........so putting him on the no fly list or a terror watch list.....would do nothing....right?

You know...we currently have a list of people who cannot buy guns...they are called convicted felons....they are already on a list and when they are stopped by police they show up on their little computers in their squad cars....

Now, anti-gun nuts, riddle me this....

I have posted the research that shows that 90% of gun murderers in the United States.....are convicted felons...which means they cannot buy, own or carry a gun...and they are put on a list that says they can't buy a gun.....

So does anyone notice the problem with that last sentence.............? 90% of the gun murderers in this country are convicted felons and are on a list already that says they cannot own, buy or carry a gun...yet they commit 90% of the murders with guns.....while they are on that list........

Anti-gunners....do you see the problem with another stupid idea that you have?

There's this pesky thing called due process.

Anti-gun loons scream that the Orlando shooting proves we need to reinstate the AW van, but they cannot explain how such a ban would prevent the exact same crime, 1, 2, 5 or even 10 years from now.

Further proof that they eagerly use the blood of innocents to push a mindless agenda.

nope......we don't........but he wasn't a terrorist till he started murdering people...even the FBI said so asshole...and they did all the work you can possibly do on a guy and they gave him a pass.........

Again.....how does your magicial, no fly list work, when the list for convicted felons alllows convicted felons to murder close to 8,124 people a year...?

Care to answer that one genius....?

In other words... you cannot answer the questions.
Thank you.
Nah, you have a set thought in your pea-brain...
... that you know you cannot answer the questions.
You're proving this quite nicely. Well done.
You are a whiner, the question was answered.
True... I asked for the sum of 1+1, you responded with "potato".
Why? Because you know you cannot meaningfully address the questions.
Go ahead.. lie to yourself some more.

Freedom isn't free. We cant strip constitutional rights because of thought crimes. That is about as totalitarian as one can get.

Good Question. It is the same as:
How can anyone support a person that is being investigated by the FBI for President?

More important and relevant is few of them, if any, have any idea what an assault weapon is. The name, itself, is sufficient to intimidate them into calling for a ban -- even though they cannot explain what an assault weapon is or articulate a reason beyond the notion that "assault weapons are dangerous."

In my experience, I've never met a committed anti-gun person who knew anything at all about guns, who was not afraid of guns, or who seemed inclined to defend him/her self under any circumstances. All they know is the designation, "assault weapon" causes them to cringe because it implies aggression.

Assault weapons are illegal in France so according to you there is simply no way that 150 people could be gunned down in Paris with those sorts of weapons. Right?

There is no need whatsoever to reinstate any sort of bans. The existing laws would have worked as intended had those at the FBI that investigated the shooter three(!!!) times not dropped the ball and let him go each time. One would think that by that third time, someone should have been considering that there was something genuinely wrong with this person, and maybe he should be examined a bit more carefully.

I decide to put you on a no-fly list, ban you from buying a gun, using public transportation of any kind and anything else I can think of because I am from the government and I don't like you! Now, what are you going to do about it?

Wet your pants like a good libbie?

No. We are defending a loser like you getting your hands on guns should you need or desire one, IAW the Constitution.

Cons deal in absolutes because complexity is just too hard. It's like trying to argue with 5 year olds, like trump. No worries, the world is big enough for the derps as well, carry on.
