So by January 21st any legal means of changing the election results had evaporated.

Well lucky for you since you didn't bother to watch The Jan. 6th Committee public hearings, you and the rest of the world are about to get the opportunity soon to see all the evidence of Trump's role in the insurrection again in the next few months in D.C. Circuit court.
As you know the SCOTUS punted the case back down to Tanya Chutkan to review all the evidence and make the dermination as to which of Trump's words and actions on and leading up to that day can be construed as "official" and which cannot.
And after that Trump of course will attempt to appeal any of Chutkan's decions he doesn't like and it will then be up to The SCOTUS to determine whether they want to mess with this case again or if they deny to hear it saying "no need. That's why we kicked it down to the lower court for determination.
At any rate it ought to be a thrilling late summer/early fall.

IMO, the sniper mount seemed to be looking directly at the roof top the shooter was on before he fired. It implies they were allowing him to shoot and then they took him out. I can’t see that video any other way

Well the sniper mount being in a location that gave it a monitor sweep of it's sector of assignment, doesn't necessarily mean it was a conspiracy in as far as allowing such a thing to take place. I'm sure that there was multiple sniper nest in specific locations monitoring their assignment sectors as well.
