"Newsmax, which has long been squarely pro-Trump, actually cut off Castor’s speech so that Dershowitz could offer sharp criticisms of his subpar defense plan. When Newsmax cut off Castor, the anchor turned to Dershowitz and ask, incredulously: “Where is he going with this?” Dershowitz can be seen shaking his head as the anchor asked the question. “There is no argument. I have no idea what he’s doing,” Dershowitz replied, before mocking Castor’s tangent about how proud people are of the senators who represent their states, and how much he loves his senators. “I have no idea why he’s saying what he’s saying. He’s introducing himself. ‘I’m a nice guy, I like my senators, I know my senators. My senators are great people.’ Come on.”

You know its bad when a GOP Senator (Cassidy-La) admits in real time that he changed his mind on voting because of how well House Democrats presented their argument and how horrible Trump's lawyers were....you would have to be the most intellectually dishonest sycophant not to concede that point. Also, the Louisiana GOP wasted no time in issuing a rebuke of Senator Cassidy because of his honesty.

And the rumors are already floating around in the QAnon circles that Trump's lawyers are actually Deep State operatives and they are purposely trying to make Trump look bad...I mean, it is stunning that his own lawyers admitted that they had to scrap their initial defense strategy due to how well the House impeachment managers were at presenting their case. I guess the sentiment of the QAnon crowd can be best summarized by one of Trump's biggest QAnon cult followers:

Everyone but those who adore and kneel to Trump are radical pinko Hitler Chinese Nazi Venezuelan socialist Deep State Swamp commies.

Imagine going through life with that mindset.

The Dems "precedent" for convicting EX public servants
William W. Belknap - Wikipedia
All Senators agreed that Belknap took the money from Marsh, but 23 who voted for acquittal believed that the Senate did not have jurisdiction
the Senate voted 35 to 25 to convict Belknap, with one Senator not voting, thus acquitting Belknap of all charges
This is such a fucking joke

Yea, Trump's impeachment lawyers are a real joke...

But convening a trial for an impeached president who is no longer in office (DUE TO THE GOP STALLING THE TRIAL) is constitutional....

No amount of whining like a bitch on your part will change it

Nothing surprises me anymore, this means that Trump could be part of it all as well.

The deep state rules with a rod of iron.

Political foes will all continue to be mocked and publicly humiliated. If nothing else, it sends a message to those who might dare stand up to them in the future.

Sure, I have no pride. Pride is arrogance and arrogance is stupidity and what we have in power now.

After all, I've been duped before by people like "W".

Humans are essentially sheep, or had you not noticed?

I wonder how pissed Trump was when he had to hear his lawyer say this.....

"Castor argued that Trump should not be convicted and barred from holding federal office by the Senate because the American people already made a conscious choice to boot him from office. "The people are smart enough, in the light most favorable to them, they're smart enough to pick a new administration if they don't like the old one, and they just did," he added."

I thought Biden wasn't "actually" elected because Trump won by a landslide and he will return to the White House in March....

I noticed when Trump was debating Ted Cruz, for example, he was spot on. He did not say anything stupid. He was articulate. He was careful. However, when he debated Biden the first time, you would have thought that he had gone off his meds. A retard could have demolished Biden in a debate and Trump failed.

I guarantee that if Trump needed lawyers to demolish a conservative like Ted Cruz, they would be up to the challenge. But the task at hand is destroying opposition to the democrat party. Trump has been the perfect wrecking ball.

Do you Trumpers not care at all about any kind of policy other than trolling and your belief that he is wrecking something??

That is pretty pathetic

Come next election, he will start another party and probably run. This will ensure democrats to dominate. As it is, most won't vote because they don't think it is fair, which will also contribute to democrats dominating.

But as Joe Biden adds some 20 million illegals to the US as citizens, the fix will be in from there on out. No longer will they have to worry about political foes, that is, outside their own party. Then the chimps may begin to eat their own.

Is Biden then responsible for shaking down Ukraine with 1 billion taxpayer dollars? Should we impeach him for that far more provable and damning crime against our country? Should we impeach Hillary for Russian collusion against the US on her Uranium one deal? Should we impeach Presidents for the dangerous pardons they make? And why not finish off Nixon for Watergate if that was so bad? How about Clinton for felony perjury and sexual assault? How about W and Cheney for being war criminals like Democrats harped on all those years? What do we do about all their advisors who gave them bad advice? Do they get aiding and abetting for all those crimes? Is John Bolton also a war criminal? How many times can we impeach and how much after someones term are they still fair game? I'm sure some former slave owners might have reasons for wanting Lincoln impeached. I'm sure some multi generational British loyalists want Washington impeached too. Where does it end Democrats? I hope you realize how stupid you look.

You expected a lot out of someone who had a couple days to prepare because Trump was unable to keep lawyers?

The only defense they can provide is that you can't impeach a president after they leave. I thought his argument that if Trump gets found guilty you can bet the Republicans will do the same to a (D) president the first chance they get. It was a case where we get to see a lawyer telling the truth.

It was a rare happening where we saw a room full of people and the lawyer wasn't the scuzziest one there.

With democrats to rule with a rod of iron in the White House for decades to come, any talk of impeachment will go away forever.

W and Cheney (and Obama and Hillary) and a long list of others should be turned over and face war crime charges.

The GOP are jellyfish. Either that or they are traitors.

Take your pick, but either way it comes out the same result.

No, they behaved. When ridiculed or condemned by the media, they put their tail between their legs and wondered off. That way they avoided impeachment by the press and Congress.

But democrats can do no wrong. Never have, and never will. They are the master race so you need to begin to learn to lick their boots, that is, if you don't want to get canceled from society.
