Most barely get by. The average compensation for pastors is very low. Many don't receive any compensation at all. And, pastors like Joel Osteen don't receive a salary at all, and hasn't since 2005, when his first book became a best seller, and he flows the standard set by Billy Graham that pastors who do well publishing then forgo salaries and live off thier book incomes. Osteen for instance averages $12-$15 million, per book, in advances from publishers like Warner Books and others, and has over 40 best sellers or so to date.

Yeah, yeah, everyone knows you lefties hate religion. The FACT is that conservatives give much more to charity than liberals. That includes getting off one's ass and actually doing things for people.

I am not a lefty. But I have been on the governing board of more than one church. The majority of church funds go to maintain the church, the preist/rector/Big Swamee/and internal church functions.

The FACT is that conservatives give much more to charity than liberals.
