Anti-gun laws working well in England Merged Rifle In Every Pot

We Americans love our guns, and even let gangsters have them so everybody can. For hundreds of years, we have accepted a certain casualty rate as a result as the price we have to pay for our right to keep and bear arms. The foreign societies with low rates of killing and wounding fail to understand this. We are used to killing and wounding. We are willing to accept around 30,000 gunshot deaths a year and a few hundred thousand wounded. They'll never understand this in other countries, where guns and violence aren't a way of life, except maybe in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Do they understand this in Africa as well?

How could Britons not need a gun for self defense? If knife attacks are on the rise then how could you say there is no need for guns? People are just supposed to accept that anyone can pull a knife on them and they are shit out of luck?

Butchering each other with knives, and beating each other with fists, is appently more civilized to folks who live in countries like England, where one must adopt a sporting attitude about self defense.

I guess that leaves the elderly and handicapped pretty much fracked!

why do your police carry guns now?

Generally, they don't. Only specialist squads do.

when we kicked your ass and took over we decided that we would never let our govt treat us like that again and allowed our people to own weapons....

And yet look at America now. Almost a police state - well, just listening to all the Americans on these boards who can't stand the Dems or the current admin..Go figure....

No exageration there eh gump? Wasn't it England that I noticed cameras everywhere? Speed cameras out in the middle of nowhere around London to catch speeders in their tiny tinker toy cars going speeds way over their capabilities.

Not to mention that the Brits have the mosques recorded, something we can only wish for.

I wouldn't say that. But, hey all the more reason for the citizenry to be armed, right?

I don't think it's really a police state. I can pretty much do whatever I want. Wether complaing about the right or left our lives don't change that significantly regardless of who's in office.

The Marquis of Queensberry rules are in effect in every pub/club and street corner in 'Great Britain' .

You get used to the cameras, it's the guy in the sunglasses that follows you everywhere that bothers me, especially as he has a machete and I only have a Swiss army knife:rolleyes:

Did you know that the police have killed people who were carrying toy guns, mobile phones and chair legs:rofl: What would happen to us if we had real guns:eusa_think:

I guess you will have to define police state in your eyes...... we are far from that in the European tradition. Writers can express their views for the world to see as editorialist in the daily newspapers and pretend journalist give their opinions, usually against the current administration, on national television news programs........how could that possibly happen in even a "light" police state? I have been passed while doing 90 miles an hour by a woman on the phone in the middle of the day.....would you call that a police state? In Texas, for under a hundred dollars, a partial day in class and some rather easy shooting tests, I can get a concealed weapon license.... you are also allowed to carry a gun in your car without a license, not an abundance of killing as a result.....would you label that as a police state? We can travel across this country from state to state without ever showing our "papers", a police state????
