Zone1 Another question to ponder

Yeah, they added a few details after ripping the story off from Mesopotamia
So, all the flood stories around the world are/were rip-off's of the Epic of Gilgamesh? How did they all happen to hear that story?

No, they just copied other religions, and tried to re-brand it as monotheism.
As monotheism?

How about as starting over? Flood stories could give ancient peoples a sense of cleansing. Their gods wipe out all the evildoers, and they get a do-over.

New creation was a recurring concept among the Israelites.

The entire geologic record suggests recurring periods of "do-overs".

Well, I guess I'm not a good Christian then because after being baptized and raised a christian, there were too many questions the Bible nor orthodoxy answered to my satisfaction that I eventually looked elsewhere for better answers.

For instance, the whole thing with 6 days and resting on the 7th. A week is a time duration based on the Julian Calendar created for Earth, so why would the creation of the whole universe at the beginning of time be based on one much less have days and nights?

Days and nights are again a function of the spin of the Earth. There was no Earth at the creation of the universe unless one accepts the Earth as the universe, a flat plate sitting on the backs of elephants with crystal spheres overhead moving the sun, moon, planets and stars.

It doesn't wash.
It's all bs with some fundamental truths mixed into a whole lot of mythology mostly for the purpose of controlling the lower classes who couldnt read or write.... And depended on the upper classes to do so for them. As if the upper classes wouldn't capitalize on it. Ancient Egypt work the same way just with different mythology, stories gods, goddesses
, etc. Not one bit different.

Reincarnated RichKid Reich

Especially with the cancer of hereditary power, wealth, property, position, and influence. The unspoken theology is that souls were judged in a pre-life. Those who were holiest got to be born rich.
